Kara A.N., Kotov D.B.

Abstract

this article examines methodological approaches to investment analysis and develops a specific methodology for assessing the effectiveness of digital transformation processes at the level of regional industrial enterprises within the framework of an innovative economy. The scholarly discourse presented in the article critically evaluates the efficacy of prevailing frameworks for appraising innovation and investment endeavors within the realm of digital transformation. It underscores the inherent difficulties associated with quantifying the nuanced technical contributions that exceed the scope of traditional financial evaluations. As a remedy, the article proposes a comprehensive methodological approach, incorporating a synthesis of heterogeneous data into a unified index of desirability. The study underscores the necessity of separating economic and technological variables when evaluating digital ventures. Cost-benefit analyses and other econometric methods remain critical for gauging financial returns. A new desirability index more accurately measures technical progress, with scores above 0.75 reflecting strong innovation. Adopting such methodology bolsters strategic alignment among Russian enterprises, ensuring more nuanced integration of advanced solutions in overall evaluations of digital transformations.

Abstract

the impact of rapidly increasing sanctions pressure on the industry of the Russian Federation and especially on the electrical industry makes the study particularly relevant. The importance of electrical engineering is determined by its key role and the close connection between the functioning of various sectors of the economy, including housing and communal services, electric power industry and mechanical engineering. The industry's products are directly related to the economic security of any country and its competitiveness in the global market, since the cost of the industry's products directly affects the cost of electricity and, accordingly, affects the efficiency of industry in the country. Nevertheless, the current situation shows that Russian products are inferior to their foreign counterparts in some characteristics, and some products are completely missing, which leads to the need to import a significant proportion of products and components. The reasons for this lie in the complexity of production technologies and processes that accumulate specific knowledge of smaller technologies, which inevitably leads to high costs for research and development necessary to create modern and competitive solutions, and also requires time, which is a key resource in the context of dynamic technology development. The continued tightening of various restrictions, including on materials and components of a wide range of applications, restrictions on the financial sector, pose the threat of a complete cessation of imports, which can have a devastating impact on the country's economy. The purpose of the article is to provide a recommendation framework for adapting the electrical industry to the current challenges associated with sanctions restrictions, taking into account existing government support measures and progress already achieved. The article is based on an analysis of current industry problems, data from scientific publications, conference materials, expert and analytical reports and official sources. The analysis revealed several serious problems facing the electrical engineering sector, such as uncompetitive products, high modernization costs, technological stagnation of enterprises, insufficient access to advanced technologies and modern equipment, as well as a shortage of highly qualified specialists. To solve these problems, the article proposes to improve and upgrade several important initiatives to support the industry by the Russian government and responsible agencies, such as the R&D subsidy program under Decree No. 1649, the reverse engineering program, industrial mortgages, and others, and combine them into a set of additional adjustment measures. This involves creating a pool of additional adjustment measures, including a system for assessing the level of localization of production, and redistributing the financial responsibility of participants in such programs. It is expected that the implementation of additional adjustment measures will significantly increase the industry's efficiency and competitiveness.

On the role of business and non-governmental organizations in the processes of commercialization of sports and on new opportunities for Russian sports in connection with the mentioned processes

Stryutskov A.A.

Abstract

the sphere of sports, both in the world and in Russia, is undergoing increasing commercialization today, despite the fact that in many countries of the world professional sports are traditionally the sphere of state paternalism. Non-governmental development of sports is carried out, at least, from two sides: from business and from non-profit organizations. Understanding the mechanisms behind the commercialization of sports will allow developing sports in our country with less dependence on budget funds, which is useful for both sports and the state, and is especially relevant in light of the need to overcome the sanctions imposed on Russian sports. The purpose of the article is to clarify the role of business and non-governmental organizations in the process of commercialization of sports. It examines the existing trends and specific mechanisms by which both business and non-governmental organizations naturally commercialize sports. Then some specific problems relevant to Russian sports are given, and ways to solve them are proposed taking into account the processes and trends under study. In conclusion, practical recommendations are offered that can serve as a basis for developing new, less state-dependent approaches to the development of sports in the Russian Federation. The research methodology is a qualitative comparative approach, including a literature review and an analysis of policy documents. The study identified specific areas of commercialization of sports both in the world and in Russia, and the analysis and conclusions drawn will be useful for increasing the resilience of Russian sports to all sorts of crises.

Evdokimov A.I.

Abstract

this study is dedicated to the empirical analysis of the relationship between the emotional tone of news headlines and the dynamics of stock indices during global economic crises. The relevance of the topic is driven by the growing influence of the information environment on investor behavior and the functioning of financial markets. The purpose of the work is to identify and quantify the effects that emotionally charged news headlines have on key stock indices during periods of economic turbulence. The study applies a comprehensive set of methods, including media content analysis, econometric modeling, and statistical analysis of time series. The empirical base comprises a sample of 1,500 headlines from leading business media and the dynamics of 5 global stock indices over the period of 2007–2023, covering several waves of global crises. The results show a statistically significant inverse relationship between the share of negatively toned headlines and the growth of stock indices (Pearson correlation coefficient r=-0.78; p<0.01). The constructed regression models allow for predicting up to 62% of index variations based on indicators of the emotional tone of news content. The findings contribute to understanding the factors affecting financial market stability and open up prospects for the development of new investment analysis tools considering behavioral effects. Further research may focus on a differentiated analysis of various categories of news headlines, as well as on studying cross-country differences in the relationship between the information environment and financial dynamics.

Spatial distribution of wholesale trade enterprises in the Republic of Tatarstan based on the level of transaction costs

Salakhatdinov A.H.

Abstract

the purpose of this study is to develop an approach to the spatial location of wholesale trade enterprises in the Republic of Tatarstan, depending on the level of transaction costs of organizations. Methods: in this study, the author uses methods of analysis and synthesis, correlation and regression analysis, as well as generalization. Findings: the objectives of this study are to study the level of transaction costs of enterprises in the Republic of Tatarstan, to determine the geographical location of such companies in the territory of the subject of the Russian Federation, as well as to identify links and dependencies between these indicators in order to form an approach to predicting the level of transaction costs when choosing a company location. This study presents approaches to determining the level of transaction costs depending on the distance between the geographical location of companies in the Republic of Tatarstan to the selected central location (the economic center of Kazan). It is proposed to base the forecasting of the location of enterprises in the Republic of Tatarstan on the regression model proposed by the author, as well as on its possible modifications. Conclusions: the conducted research shows that the close relationship between the level of transaction costs and the geographical location of enterprises in the Republic of Tatarstan can be considered weak. The regression equation calculated in this scientific work makes it possible to predict the level of transaction costs depending on the location of enterprises in the republic. An increase in the distance between the geographical location of companies and the economic center does not lead to a significant increase in the share of transaction costs in the revenue of companies, which is explained by the factors presented in this scientific paper.
