Specificity of Perfective and Resultative Meanings in German Language
Аннотация
The article deals with the peculiarities of perfective and resultative meanings in German. It is shown that the basic difference between them has an actional nature. The resultative is static, the perfective is dynamic. In some types of contexts the interrelation of perfectionality and inferential evidentiality, perfectionality and emotionality can be traced; perfective forms are able to show the property of cataphoricity, while resultative is always anaphoric.



Semantics of Emotion Nominees of the Concept Zorn / Gnev in German and Russian: a Comparative Study
Аннотация
The article is devoted to the semantics of the lexical units forming the core of the concept of ZORN/GNEV. The definitions of the words Zorn, Wut, Anger, Anger in lexicographic and encyclopedic sources are analyzed and the components of the semantics of these lexical units are highlighted. The structure of the meaning of the nominees of emotions in Russian and German were compared, on the basis of which the peculiarities of the mutual translatability of the nominees of emotions Zorn, Wut, Gnev, Zlost’ in the German-Russian pair of languages were revealed.



Linguistic Means of Formation of the Defeated Expectancy Effect in an Ironic Statement (based on the material of a German television show)
Аннотация
This article is dedicated to the study of defeated expectancy effect as one of the mechanisms for creating an ironic modality of utterance based on the material of the TV-program «heute show» on the ZDF TV channel. The study showed that the effect of defeated expectancy is one of the most common means intentionally used by the producer in order to form an ironic modality and subsequently effectively influence the recipient, drawing his attention to the current public problem under discussion.



Expanding the Database of a Balanced Linguistic Corpus with Values from a Dictionary of Tonality (corpus experiment)
Аннотация
The proposed research aims to develop and test an algorithm for expanding a balanced dynamic linguistic corpus of more than 3 million tokens with connotative characteristics. To achieve this, the authors rely on original software solutions created at the laboratory for fundamental and applied issues of virtual education at Moscow State Linguistic University. As a result, a properly functioning corpus was obtained with the ability to supplement its individual fragments with data on the connotations of tokens and sentences.



On the Question of Some of the Sources Supplementing the Modern German Slang of the Young People
Аннотация
In the article are some of the sources supplementing the modern German slang of the young people under consideration. The article analyses productive processes of slang word formation, that are used by the young German people. The creative application of metaphorical and metonymic transfer of names, irony, stylization, antonomasia are addressed. The slang words function as a evaluation, many of them create a comic effect.



Prosodic Features of German Social Advertising in 2006–2023
Аннотация
The article discusses prosodic features of German social advertising, such as tempo, pauses and volume of speech. Using quantitative analysis, the most frequent characteristics of the speakers' speech were identified, as well as changes in prosodic characteristics in the selected time period were shown. The need for research is due to the constantly changing living conditions in connection with the events taking place in the world.



Transformations of Predicative Structures in English-Russian Translation
Аннотация
Translation between English and Russian entails numerous regular transformations, especially at the syntactic level, where interlingual differences can lead to disparities in the frequency of various predicate structures. This paper is based on the frequency-typology model of translation, and it is aiming to explore the potential correlation between the frequency of these structures and the reader's perception of the text.



Typological Dimension of Verbal Voices in Modern German
Аннотация
Grounded in the theory of contensive typology, the article researches into functions of voice forms in modern German, treating them as a representation of the language’s nominative properties; models of text-building functions of the passive voice are specified: foregrounding (intensification), identity of reference, implication, summarizing, enumeration loaded with contrast, strategic patterns of constructing a whole text on the basis of hyper-theme and hyper-rheme.



The Problem of Typifying Persuasion Techniques (based on English-language media news reports)
Аннотация
The article addresses persuasion means and techniques in English-language media news reports to establish how comprehensively the existing typologies present the persuasion techniques to create the intended pragmatic effect. To achieve this goal, we used the methods of discursive and contextual analysis. As a result, it has been noticed that the addressed typologies of persuasion means and techniques require certain alteration in order to be fully capable of conveying a persuasive effect.



The Sacred Cow: How Was the Nomination of the Bos Taurus Species in Sanskrit?
Аннотация
The article discusses the problem of the principle of nominating animals of the Bos taurus species in Sanskrit. Nominations are analyzed from the perspective of etymology and onomasiology; cultural data from primary sources (Rigveda, Bhagavata Purana) are provided. Attention is drawn to the importance of distinguishing cows and bulls by gender at the lexical level, associated with the difference in economic functions and with different cultural and mythological connotations, as well as the suitability of an individual for sacrifice.



The Semantic Roles of the Second Participant in the Long Passive Construction
Аннотация
The aim of the investigation is to establish the semantic roles of the by-phrase represented by non-persons. The research is performed on the basis of text-corpus data in Russian, along with the contrastive analysis of long passives in English and German. The result of the research: 1) the semantic roles of an agent, elementive and effector are demarcated; 2) characteristics necessary to perform the corresponding function are formulated, and typical semantic groups of nouns are identified; 3) the similarity of the semantic roles played by the second participant in discussed languages is confirmed.



The Order of Adjectives in the Nominal Syntagm (based on the Portuguese language)
Аннотация
In Portuguese, in a noun phrase with several specifier adjectives, the latter are always placed in postposition relative to the noun, with adjectives with a broader meaning closer to the nucleus, and subsequent specifiers performing a restrictive function. Based on the analysis of examples from the media and students’ mistakes, the work analyzes deviations from the general rule, as well as the use of characterizing adjectives in an expressive style.



Semmel von Dahoam: Dialect In Commercial Advertising in Southern Germany
Аннотация
The article examines the role of dialect in commercial banner and poster advertising in South Germany. It analyzes advertising campaigns with Upper German dialect inclusions implemented between 2010 and 2022 in Bavaria and Baden-Württemberg. The results of linguopragmatic analysis indicate that the use of dialect in regional advertising messages is determined both by the communicative demands of society and by the functions of advertising as a driver of trade.



At the Intersection of Sciences: Current Issues and Methods of Migration Linguistics

The article provides an overview of current issues of migration linguistics in the era of the migration crisis, and describes methods from various scientific fields currently used to conduct research on migration discourse. The authors also set themselves the task of clarifying the term “migration” in the circle of related special terms, such as “emigration”, “immigration”, “mobility”, and “relocation".



Segmental Deviations in English Dialectal Speech
Аннотация
The experimental data obtained by the author in the course of a two-step phonetic analysis of the vocalic and consonantal systems of British dialects (Northern Irish, Welsh, Scottish) and regional pronunciation varieties (Australian, New Zealand, Indian, African-American, Caribbean) allow to determine the basic segmental deviations from the British pronunciation standard in English dialectal speech and single out the general and specific pronunciation features. The most common tendency observed in all the studied dialects is a language simplification.



Participation of Modal Verbs in the Realization of the Author's Intention (based on the material of a German-language scientific article)
Аннотация
The article examines the use of modal verbs as direct participants in the implementation of author's intentions in German-language scientific discourse. Based on the material of scientific articles in the humanities, conclusions are drawn that German modal verbs serve as indicators of the author’s assumption with varying degrees of probability, a means of interaction between the author of a scientific text and its addressee and a means of author’s self-expression, and also participate in the organization of scientific thought in the text.



Methods of Conveying Stylistic Features of Pseudoepos Based on the Material of the «Silmarillion» by J. R. R. Tolkien and Its Translations into Russian
Аннотация
The present article is devoted to a comparative analysis of the pseudo-epic work "Silmarillion" by J. R. R. Tolkien and four variants of its translation into Russian. The article examines the stylistic techniques used by translators to convey the lexical and rhythmic features of the author's work and compares them with the methods used by the author of the original.



The Role of Emotive Lexis in the Autobiographical Oral Narrative of the Disabled
Аннотация
The article presents the results of a study of the emotive component of the speech of young people with disabilities who became participants in the TRU DOKU project (Germany, 2019–2024). As a result of the study, based on the provisions of the linguistics of emotions and the method of contextual analysis, the emotive as well as associative-emotive lexemes presented in the material were classified, which led to defining its importance for structuring an autobiographical narrative and designing the image of a young man with disabilities.

The Female Subject in the Poetry of Anna Akhmatova and Forough Farrokhzad
Аннотация
In modern literary studies, the emergence of gender theory and the question of the specificity of the female lyrical subject in the meaning of speech in the person of a woman is an understudied topic. In this paper, the female lyrical subject is examined in the poems of two significant poets, representative of Russian and Persian literature, Anna Akhmatova and Foroug Farrokhzad. In their poems, the female lyrical subject is creative, active, speaking and thinking. The comparative analysis is based on the description of similarities and differences between their lyrical subjects.



Oneiric Motifs in Nikolai Gogol’s “Evenings on a Farm Near Dikanka” and Pu Songling’s “Strange Tales from a Chinese Studio”: Dreaming as a Journey
Аннотация
The article contains a comprehensive analysis of oneiric motifs in Gogol’s early prose and in Pu Sunlin’s collection of fantasy stories. Common motifs are identified for further comparative study and interpretation. It is concluded that in the works of both writers, sleep is not only a special physiological and psychological state, but also a journey of the characters into the otherworld.

Separation of Censorship and Book Culture into “Secular” and “Spiritual”: in Historical Perspective (from the “Spiritual Regulation” to the “Era of Censorship Terror”)
Аннотация
The article examines the historical division of censorship and book culture between secular and spiritual spheres. Through the analysis of legislative regulations concerning secular and spiritual censorship, which demonstrate varying degrees of strictness in oversight of secular and spiritual book cultures, the author hypothesizes that these designated categories were not perceived as equal in historical contexts. The category of “spiritual” was internally linked to the “sacred”, and was subject to much greater scrutiny.



Nickolas Roerich’s Philosophical Travelogues. On the 150th Anniversary of His Birth
Аннотация
Nickolas Roerich was an artist, thinker, public figure, and traveler. 2024 marks the 150th anniversary of his birth. This article examines one of the facets of the work of our great compatriot – his travel notes and essays made on the routes of two expeditions – Central Asian (1924–1928) and Manchurian (1934–1935). These texts are considered in the context of the laws of the travelogue genre. For Roerich, the journey becomes a starting point for philosophical reflections consonant with the philosophical teaching of Living Ethics – on the unity of the cultural space of Eurasia, on the future of the planet, on Shambhala as the subject of Buddhist legends and as a spiritual reality.
