THE CHRISTIAN UNDERSTANDING OF WAR IN “THE LIFE OF ALEXANDER NEVSKY”

SAVITSKIY S.G.

Abstract

The article considers “The Life of Alexander Nevsky” as a source for reconstructing the understanding of the phenomenon of war in Russian Orthodoxy. It highlights some key aspects of the author’s view on war and killing in war. The personality of Alexander and his ministry justify the possibility of defending the Orthodox faith with arms in hand. “The Life of Alexander Nevsky” justifies defensive war (war for liberty), seen as God’s work, a special mission where God himself takes sides with the combatants and assists on the battlefield. The attitude towards killing during the war, specifically its classification as not a sin but a deed worthy of praise, is based on canon law (Rule 13 of St. Basil the Great). Meanwhile, one of the significant aspects of perceiving war within Christian morality is understanding the need for compassion.

PROJECT-BASED RESEARCH ACTIVITIES OF SCHOOLCHILDREN IN CHEMISTRY AS A RESOURCE FOR THE FORMATION OF NATURAL SCIENCE LITERACY

GAVRONSKAYA Y.Y., KHOLMATOV A.R.

Abstract

The article proposes a way to resolve the contradiction in the formation of scientific literacy in teaching chemistry: between the need to master the methodologies and methods of experimental natural science research, on the one hand, and the insufficiency of substantive, material, motivational, time- and personnel-related resources of a chemistry lesson for a full cycle of scientific research, on the other. The authors discuss the formation of scientific literacy of schoolchildren in teaching chemistry not only in lessons, but also in extracurricular activities when implementing research projects using a chemical experiment and physical and chemical research methods. The activities of students at different stages of the project correlate with the competencies of natural science literacy, which creates conditions not only for theoretical knowledge, but also for the practical application of the relevant skills.

A COMPARATIVE STUDY OF THE VALUE FOUNDATIONS OF SUCCESSIVE GENERATIONS IN DIFFERENT PERIODS OF THE DEVELOPMENT OF RUSSIAN SOCIETY

SHNURENKO T.I.

Abstract

This article presents the results of a comparative analysis of the value foundations of successive generations based on a research conducted between 2003-2005 and a repeated study conducted in 2023-2025, which revealed the enduring values of generations that have not lost their significance in the new socio-historical context. The author determines universal value foundations that perform an integrating function in society and are significant for representatives of all generational groups, regardless of the historical period of the development of Russian society. The presence of values that integrate the value foundations of the generations testifies to the preservation and stability of the mechanisms for the transmission and succession of values that contribute to the further development of Russian society. Among the values that demonstrate a stable character in the value field of all the generations, the values of “security” and “kindness” remain, which reflect traditional meanings and serve as a key reference point for preserving Russian identity. The presence of identical values in the value field of the generations proves the existence of integrating processes within the mechanism of succession.

KALUGINA T.N., TIMCHENKO M.V., GOLUBTSOVA M.A.

Abstract

The article is devoted to the problem of formation and development of linguocultural competence in students majoring in international relations and learning a foreign language for specific purposes. The comparison of European and Russian approaches has revealed that in Europe the emphasis is placed on the formation and development of sociolinguistic competence, while in Russian universities of international profile attention is largely paid to forming and developing linguocultural competence. The aim of the article is to determine the value of the linguocultural studies in learning a foreign language for specific purposes, drawing on the students’ experience. Basing on the results of questionnaire survey of MGIMO students majoring in economics, business and law (n=100), the authors substantiate the necessity of introducing tailor-made foreign language linguocultural courses. The article presents examples of practical work with linguocultural studies material aimed at studying linguistic, sociocultural and historical realities of the countries of the target language, as well as developing analytical, communicative and professionally relevant competences. Ultimately, the authors come to the conclusion that the fragmentary presentation of linguocultural material is not sufficient enough compared to the systematic presentation of this material in a linguocultural studies course in terms of its efficiency in learning the material and its integration into the course of the language for specific purposes.

RUDZINSKAYA T.F., POROSHINA A.M.

Abstract

The article is devoted to an urgent problem - the correction of emotional and volitional disorders in mentally retarded adolescents. The key objective of psychological and pedagogical assistance is not only correction, but also improvement of emotional and volitional regulation in adolescents with intellectual disabilities, as its underdevelopment leads to behavioural deviations, a desire to isolate oneself from society, a decrease in productivity, and other negative consequences in a child’s life. In this study, the authors analyse the effectiveness of the correction programme that includes role-playing games and a specialised set of exercises. Based on the results obtained, the proposed programme demonstrates a positive effect on the development of the emotional and volitional sphere of adolescents with mild mental retardation.

MANIFESTATIONS OF THE IMPULSIVITY-REFLECTIVITY COGNITIVE STYLE IN PRIMARY SCHOOL AGE

ANASTASIEVA A.A.

Abstract

This article examines the manifestations of the “impulsivity-reflectivity” dimension of the cognitive style in early school age. This cognitive style influences the effectiveness of learning activities. The study investigates its impact on decision-making, behaviour, and the development of self-organisation skills. The study presents research data regarding the relationship between this cognitive style and rigidity, as well as information on how the modern digital environment affects this response style. It also explores the impact of heightened anxiety on impulsivity and reflectivity. Given that cognitive styles are formed in early school age, and in accordance with the trend towards individualised education, it is necessary to rely on the unique cognitive characteristics of students. It is suggested that further research into thecognitive style based on the response style will allow for a more targeted approach to learning activities, making them more effective.

POPULAR MUSIC IN CHINA’S SINGING CULTURE: HISTORICAL, THEORETICAL, AND PEDAGOGICAL ASPECTS

KUN H.

Abstract

The article analyses the role and significance of popular music in China’s singing culture from the standpoint of historical and theoretical aspects. China’s popular culture is a relatively young phenomenon, having emerged and developed in less than half a century. Chinese pop culture has spread far beyond mainland China. It is a multilingual, relatively well-integrated cultural economy that functions in accordance with Chinese folk traditions. The history of pop music in China spans more than 30 years. The so-called popular music can be divided into pop music, blues, jazz music, rock, avangarde trends and multigenre popular melodies adapted for performance by various orchestras and ensembles. China did not completely copy the model of development of foreign popular music, but decided to combine Western popular music culture with its own musical culture, trying to maintain a reasonable balance in the ratio of these cultures. The aim of this study is to identify the pedagogical potential of popular music in Chinese singing culture.

A SOCIO-PSYCHOLOGICAL MODEL OF THE RESPONSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF X, Y, Z GENERATIONS TO VARIOUS CHOICE SITUATIONS

KIRKIN S.S.

Abstract

The study is aimed at developing and empirically verifying a socio-psychological model describing the response characteristics of representatives of generations X, Y and Z in choice situations. Using the techniques of R. Kettell, J. Kelly, and L. N. Sobchik, the author identified persistent differences in personality traits, cognitive structures, and adaptive strategies characteristic of each generation. The constructed integrative model demonstrates how personal and cognitive parameters shape various decision-making strategies, from analytical for Generation X to intuitive for Generation Z. The results obtained allow for a deeper understanding of intergenerational dynamics and can be useful in the development of educational, managerial and communication practices.
