Storytelling as a tool of media communication: a theoretical aspect

Nikonov Y.A.

Abstract

the article examines storytelling as an independent media communication tool that has emerged at the intersection of literary traditions and modern digital technologies. The study highlights its distinction from outdated models of communication based on one-way information transmission. The author emphasizes that storytelling borrows compositional, stylistic, and plot techniques from classical literature, adapting them to the needs of media and marketing. The paper presents a theoretical analysis of key storytelling structures (Freytag’s model, the ABDCE structure, and universal plot schemes), revealing their functions in shaping engaging narratives. The research is based on methods such as discourse analysis, literary comparison, induction, and the comparative-historical approach. It is shown that contemporary storytelling tends to lose the individual authorial style, becoming more standardized and formulaic, yet it remains an effective tool for emotional influence and building audience trust. The practical significance of the study lies in the potential application of its findings in the creation of media and brand content based on storytelling principles. The article also outlines the risks and limitations associated with the widespread use of simplified narrative templates. As a result, storytelling is presented not merely as a trend, but as a complex cultural and communicative practice reflecting the transformations of the modern media environment.

Organization of training for international students of socio-cultural adaptation in Russia

Terskikh T.F.

Abstract

the article discusses the organization of the necessary minimum information for the adaptation of foreign students in Russia. First of all, it is the creation of a comfortable socio-cultural didactic environment. The article also describes the use of active teaching methods: the use of modern active teaching methods helps academic and socio-cultural adaptation. The formation of interethnic study groups and the use of textbooks adapted to the level of proficiency of foreign students in the Russian language play an important role in adaptation. For underachieving students, additional classes are usually organized in the most difficult subjects to learn. And, of course, the main role is played by the organization of leisure activities for international students. These can be various events: dating evenings, discos, concert programs, Olympiads, sports competitions that make a student's life diverse, intense, and interesting.

The motive of ideological madness in M.A. Bulgakov's novel "Fatal Eggs"

Murtazalieva E.A., Nurmagomedova R.O.

Abstract

the article is devoted to the analysis of the phenomenon of "ideological madness" in Mikhail Bulgakov's novel "Fatal Eggs" as a key metaphor for the danger of scientific fanaticism and technocratic utopia. The study focuses on the tragic fates of Professor Persikov and Alexander Rokk, whose obsession with knowledge and power over nature leads to an apocalyptic catastrophe. Through the analysis of the symbolism of the red ray, zoomorphic images and biblical illusions, it is demonstrated that the madness of the heroes is not a mental anomaly, but a consequence of the gap between scientific progress and spiritual responsibility. The article proves that Persikov's death is not just payback for personal mistakes, but a parable that a technocracy that rejects humanism leads to self-destruction. The work highlights the relevance of Bulgakov's warning: any discovery devoid of moral guidelines carries the seed of the apocalypse.

Determining factors influencing the formation of New Zealand English

Ivantsova N.A., Pokrovskaya M.D.

Abstract

this work is devoted to a comprehensive analysis of the New Zealand version of the English language as an original linguistic system formed under the influence of historical, socio-cultural and geographical factors. The purpose of the work is to identify the mechanisms of linguistic transformation that led to the emergence and evolution of this variant. To achieve this goal, the role of British English as the basis of phonetic, grammatical, and lexico-semantic norms was considered. Particular attention was paid to the influence of the culture of the Polynesian Maori tribe, which gave unique features to the New Zealand version. An important aspect was the study of the penetration of Americanisms into the spoken version through mass communication. In addition, the role of the geographical factor was analyzed, namely the influence of Australian English on the New Zealand language system. The using of an interdisciplinary approach combining the methods of historical linguistics, sociolinguistics and cultural studies has made it possible to demonstrate, using the example of New Zealand English, that a superficial analysis cannot provide an adequate explanation of the causes of certain features characteristic of the language. The practical significance of the work lies in the possibility of applying its results in the field of linguistics and intercultural communication. The study contributes to the theoretical understanding of the dynamics of linguistic changes, emphasizing the need for an integrated approach to the study of language variants as a reflection of centuries-old historical and cultural processes.

The logic of speech as the basis of rhetorical codes to logos: a didactic aspect

Guzhova N.V., Stupina E.S.

Abstract

the article is written in the context of rhetorical and didactic orientation. The notion of rhetorical code oriented to the sensual perception of speech can be realised in the categories of pathos, logos, ethos. Rhetorical codes to logos require a certain strategy of information processing by the actor and decoding by the recipient. The basis of the code is conditioned by the methods of detailing in the description of the problem, concretisation of data, comparison, contrast and contrast of facts, analogy. Specific expression of rhetorical signs is represented by words used in objective meaning, appropriate use of proper names, numerals, subordinating conjunctions. The combination of signs is realised in the structure of complex sentences. Deviation from the requirements of logicality leads to the distortion of the code matrix of an utterance. The paper emphasises that the formation and decoding of codes to logos is an unconditional task in mastering communicative skills. The development of practical tasks on speech culture, stylistics, aimed at identifying errors caused by the violation of logicality of speech is presented. The Kolb’s cycle – a model of learning that helps to quickly form the necessary skill through practice – has become widespread in training. The structural elements of the method are experience, analysis, theory, practice, experience.

Abstract

the article is devoted to a comprehensive analysis of the top manager lexeme in Russian, combining an associative experiment and corpus data. The purpose of the study is to identify the relationship between the subjective perception of native speakers and the normative contexts of word usage. The methodology includes a psycholinguistic experiment involving 239 recipients and an analysis of 20 contexts from the National Corpus of the Russian Language. The results of the experiment showed the dominance of the semantic components of status, managerial functions, and financial responsibility. The corpus data emphasizes the professional role, while emotional and evaluative connotations are manifested mainly in media texts. The comparison revealed a difference: respondents associate the word with material success, while corpus contexts focus on functional aspects of activity. It is established that the lexeme has become fixed as a multicomponent concept with a stable core (status + functions) and variable connotations reflecting social stereotypes. The results of the study contribute to the study of the Russian language by demonstrating how borrowed terms are adapted in the linguistic consciousness through the interaction of cognitive and social factors.

Abstract

the article is devoted to the analysis of the typology of female images in the works of F.M. Dostoevsky. The research focuses on the division of female characters into three main typological groups: "fools", "proud" and "humble". Through the analysis of the motives of the "fallen woman" and the "doppelganger woman", the Christian concept of spiritual transformation through suffering is realized, which serves as an important element of F.M. Dostoevsky's philosophical anthropology and proves that female characters are not only a reflection of the social and psychological conflicts of the era. The work offers a synthesis of Christian anthropology and literary analysis, revealing how female images embody Dostoevsky's key ideas about sin, redemption, and salvation.

The experience of creating a typological and individual synchronous speech portrait of a participant in the Great Patriotic War

Myasishchev G.I., Maslennikova A.S., Kovaleva A.S., Shats A.V., Cherkashina E.E.

Abstract

the subject of this article is the speech behavior of the participants of the Great Patriotic War, recorded in personal correspondence. The purpose of the work is to compile a speech portrait of a front – line soldier based on the analysis of letters addressed to relatives and friends during the period of hostilities. The research methodology combines the methods of functional pragmalinguistics and lexico-conceptual-semantic analysis, thereby providing a comprehensive study of idiolect features. The analysis of the corpus of letters, which was formed by random sampling from the same type of collections, included segmentation of texts into pragmemes classified by types of evaluability. The results of the study showed the predominance of speech inaccuracy among possible options for evaluability in statements. At the same time, the analysis of evaluative pragmemes revealed individual strategies of the authors aimed at expressing personal feelings. The lexical-conceptual-semantic analysis confirmed the individuality of the speech presentation of general concepts, as well as the presence of unique, original ideas. The study showed how, in conditions of psychological trauma, linguistic means form a polyphonic text, balancing information content and emotional impact.

Moroz Y.A.

Abstract

the purpose of the study is to determine the possibilities of using neural networks as an innovative tool for creating educational content and a means of organizing an interactive educational environment in foreign language classes at a university. For a better understanding of the technical aspects of using neural networks in teaching foreign languages, an overview of the main types and architectures of relevant neural networks used for processing natural language is provided. The scientific novelty of this study lies in the fact that it presents for the first time 3 different ways of using neural networks for conducting foreign language classes and preparing for them (personalized learning, automated assessment and involving language assistants). In addition, the results of an experimental study are presented demonstrating the effectiveness, quality, disadvantages and problems of the above methods of using neural networks in the educational process of higher education. The general conclusions emphasize the importance and prospects of using neural networks to improve the teaching of foreign languages in higher education institutions, but also indicate the need for careful preparation and support of teachers and students from both university administration and the state, which is necessary for the successful implementation of these innovations.

????? ???????????? ????????????

Zhang J., Zheng W.

Abstract

this paper, grounded in the semiotic theory of the Moscow-Tartu Semiotic School, examines the Russian poet Joseph Brodsky’s translation of Tang dynasty poetry. Focusing on his renditions of “Quiet Night Thought” and “Deer Enclosure”, the study explores how Brodsky reconstructed poetic symbols to transform linguistic texts into cultural meanings. As both poet and translator, he integrated Chinese imagery and rhythm into the Russian context, revealing translation as an act of cultural re-encoding and poetic innovation, rather than mere linguistic transfer.

On the relationship of Russian slang in the Azerbaijani language in translation

Abdullayeva U.S.

Abstract

the article discusses jargons and the history of their origin in world linguistics. The characteristic features of the words and expressions included in the slang vocabulary are revealed, and their equivalents in the Azerbaijani language are clarified. It is noted that jargons are not used in the literal sense at all, they mainly express a figurative meaning. In addition, various examples of traditional jargons, as well as jargons used by modern Russian youth, are given, their meanings in the Russian language are considered, and the style of expression of their Azerbaijani counterparts is touched upon. Russian jargons used in the 19th century were of Latin and Greek origin, and many of them were translated into Russian from French and German, while modern jargons are transmitted from English. In the article we are considering, slang is the result of the transformation of words and expressions into the Azerbaijani language through slang words, jargonisms, dialect units and vulgarisms. As the lifestyle changes rapidly, new trends lead to the development of language and the evolution of the grammatical structure of the language, its simplification, updating and modification of various words and expressions. These areas of language are developing so rapidly that its communicative function becomes necessary for the emergence of new and shorter expressions in the language in order to keep up with modern trends in human life.

Mental identity of the nation and its expression in Russian-language Azerbaijani prose (based on the works of N. Rasulzade)

Kasimova M.M.

Abstract

in this article we have considered the concept of “ethnic reality” from the point of view of the ethnopsychological characteristics of the linguistic and supralinguistic existence of an ethnic group. While studying the process of ethnopsychological characteristics of the linguistic and supralinguistic existence of an ethnic group, we based on the concept of mental identity and at the same time analyzed mental identity itself. In story “The Girl in Red” by Natig Rasulzadeh, the author, narrating about the life of the main character Akashi, comes to the conclusion that his life has led to a further change in his social status. As a result, the hero tearfully turns to God, asks to help him and to create him again. Mental identity gives the writer the right to turn completely the hero’s consciousness upside down. In order to declare the specificity of mentality and preserve changes in the hero’s life, the author gets the opportunity to “invade” hero’s internal life and completely change it. A nation is not an ethnic group, but a state. Ethnolinguistics studies the connection between language and the culture of the people and their way of life. The mental identity of a nation occupies an important place in the process of analyzing the character of a contemporary hero and the Azerbaijani reality surrounding him. By showing the inner world of a contemporary hero, the writer takes an active part in the development of the modern thinking of the Azerbaijani reader, and therefore in the development of Azerbaijani prose on the path of its formation from modernism to postmodernism.

The functional and semantic field of iteration in French

Ben A.I.

Abstract

this article identifies the characteristic features of the functional and semantic field of iterativity in the French language and defines the classification of grammatical, morphological and lexical means of its expression. The theoretical analysis of the issue is based on scientific papers published in Russia and abroad, using general and special methods, including functional-semantic, descriptive, comparative-typological and contextual analysis. The essential characteristic of iterativity as a linguistic phenomenon is defined, the structure of the functional and semantic field of iterativity in the French language is compiled. The key means of expressing iterativity are analyzed, such as morphological and grammatical means: the use of the verb form imparfait, the prefix re-, the suffix -ill-; lexical means: adverbs (souvent, encore), syntactic constructions with the meaning of repetition. The theoretical and practical significance of the work lies in clarifying the concept of iterativity and its means of expression in French, which provides additional information in the field of French language theory, Romance grammar, lexicology and translation studies. The study revealed that the functional and semantic field of iteration in French includes a wide range of linguistic means, from grammatical forms to morphological markers such as affixes and lexical indicators such as adverbs. All these elements interact in the language system, providing an expression of the repeatability and multiplicity of actions. Understanding the FSP of iteration plays an important role in the study of French grammar and lexicology, as well as in the process of analytical study of texts of various genres.

Characteristics of Syrian romanism in the 20th century: between tradition and realism

Stoyanova N.I., Absalamov A.Z.

Abstract

the article explores the evolution of Syrian prose in the 20th century, with a focus on the novel as the leading literary genre. It analyzes the interaction between traditional Arabic narrative forms and the influences of European literature – particularly Russian, French, and German literary models. Special emphasis is placed on how Syrian writers critically adapted these foreign traditions to express local realities, national identity, and the Arabic language. The study outlines the major developmental stages of the Syrian novel, identifying the 1920s-1930s as the formative phase, the 1940s-1960s as the period of realist expansion, and the 1970s–1980s as an era of psychological depth and social engagement. The contribution of prominent writers such as Hanna Mina, Maaruf al-Arnaut, and Shakib al-Jabiri is examined in terms of both thematic innovation and narrative structure. The paper also considers the role of literary criticism in shaping the novel’s trajectory, highlighting key figures such as M.J.A. al-Musawi and Nabil Suleiman. The research concludes that Syrian romanticism, with its synthesis of realism and experimentation, established a foundation for 21st-century prose. The findings may be useful for further comparative literary studies and for understanding how regional literature contributes to global literary trends.
