The role of journalism in shaping public opinion: an analysis of the examples of the Russian and Chinese media space
Abstract
this article is devoted to the study of the role of journalism in shaping public opinion using the examples of the Russian and Chinese media spaces. The research aims to identify the key mechanisms and effects of journalistic materials on the audience in different socio-cultural contexts. The methodology includes content analysis of media texts, expert interviews, and modeling of information perception processes. The empirical basis was made up of representative samples of publications in the leading media in Russia and China for the period 2018-2023. The results demonstrate statistically significant differences in thematic profiles, presentation formats, and intensity of value judgments (p<0.01). Cross-cultural characteristics of audience response to different types of media messages (correlation coefficients from 0.74 to 0.92) are revealed. The data obtained expand the scientific understanding of media interaction and open up prospects for cross-cultural journalism research. Understanding the role of the media in a global context allows us to develop more effective communication strategies and prevent manipulative effects.

Corpus of lexical units with valuable component and its pragmatic potential in Spanish
Abstract
the article is devoted to the problem of lexical means of expressing the category of evaluation and their pragmatic potential in the Spanish language. Due to the need to express a particular attitude to an object or subject, lexical means acquire great importance within its framework. Considering the huge layer of lexical units in the language, using the continuous sampling method, we examined a certain part of the words and phrases expressed by various parts of speech in Spanish. The category of evaluation is one of the universal categories. In various fields of knowledge, there are different approaches to its definition. Thus, "evaluation" is considered from the point of view of philosophy, logic, psychology, linguistics, etc. At the same time, the evaluation as a whole consists of both explicit and implicit elements, for example, the evaluation scale often acts as an implicit element. It is noteworthy that any evaluative values and features can be compared and form a scale. On this scale, positive, neutral and negative segments can be distinguished, which, in turn, are characterized by gradation. The main characteristics of the category of evaluation determine its functions in speech. One of the main functions of the category of evaluation is the expression of the speaker's opinion, demonstrating his or her system of values or the values of the group to which the speaker belongs. Among other functions, it is worth mentioning the creation and maintenance of relations between the addressee and the addresser and the structuring of discourse. The purpose of the article is to theoretically study the corpus of lexical means of expressing the category of evaluation and their pragmatic potential in the Spanish language.

On some methods in the taxonomy of naval vocabulary (artillery profile)
Abstract
the article deals with the issues of taxonomy in naval terminology system(s) as one of the ways of systematisation of research-and-technology vocabulary. The study aims to analyse the possibilities of applying the terminology classification developed by T.L. Kandelaki. To handle this objective, about 350 terms were selected from the artillery profile vocabulary and correlated with nine groups: “objects”, “processes”, “states”, “modes”, “properties”, “values”, “measurement units”, “sciences and branches”, “professions and occupations”. The research source was represented by the scholarly academic literature studied by cadets of higher naval educational institutions mastering the training profile 26.05.04 “Application and operation of technical systems of surface crafts and submarines”. The research revealed that semantically the terms belonging to the category of “properties” (27%) prevailed. Lexical units belonging to the category of “professions and occupations” were very seldom used in the analysed sources (2%). In addition, based on the analysis results, it was concluded that not all naval terms can be accurately correlated with the categories offered by T.L. Kandelaki’s classification as far as semantically they can fall under different categories in equal measure, which complicates their structuring. Nevertheless, the terminology systems taxonomy provides opportunities for their more detailed study and the development of a completely new classification applicable to naval terminology systems.

Teaching the stress-time rhythm of the English language to native Chinese students
Abstract
the study is devoted to the problem of teaching Chinese students the tact-counting rhythm of English speech due to the differences between the rhythmic systems of English (stress-time) and Chinese (syllable-time) languages. The aim of the work is to develop a cycle of exercises to overcome phonetic and rhythmic difficulties. In the course of the study, the following were carried out: analysis of scientific literature, comparative-comparative analysis of rhythmic structures, experimental training using the multisensory method (MSM), which includes visual, auditory and kinesthetic elements. Results showed that rhythmic repetition exercises, audiovisual materials and emphasis on stressed syllables improved rhythm perception and reproduction. Typical errors were identified: incorrect stress, vowel reduction in non-impact positions, intonation patterns. The practical significance of the work lies in the methodological recommendations for integrating multimodal techniques, role-playing games and listening into the learning process. The study emphasizes the need to take into account the cultural and psycholinguistic features of Chinese students to improve the effectiveness of learning.

2.?urdu?da ?el ?sd?rmek – ??s?z-i?iksiz go?mak, adyny-soruny ?itirmek, ?ok etmek. Atamyrat gotur bizi? ?urdumyzda ?el ?sd?rer (B. Se?t?kow).
Abstract
the article analyzes the concept of “yurd/yurt” in phraseological combinations of the Turkic languages of the Oghuz group. Among the Turkic peoples, especially among the Oghuz Turks, the concept of “yurd/yurt” unites the meanings of “hearth”, “ashes”, native land, Motherland. The Turkic peoples combine “yurt” with the meanings of birthplace and Motherland and associate it with the unchanging and single whole “Fatherland”. Phraseological combinations are linguistic units with rich characteristics that preserve the national mental features of the people. Observations on the facts show that in phraseological combinations, which are a unit of the lexical level of language, the cultural life of the Turkic thought associated with “yurd/yurt” is reflected. In the Turkic languages of the Oghuz group, related to it, there are phraseological units “yurd salmaq / build a yurt”, “yurd s?km?k / demolish a yurt”, “yurd abad etm?k / improve a yurt”, “yurdda qalmaq / stay in a yurt” and others. In the internal sense of these phraseological units, Turkic thoughts about the Motherland have been preserved. Today, these linguistic units allow us to talk about the language and culture, philosophy of the Turkic peoples. Therefore, phraseological combinations are expressions of the national mental thought of each people and are a living cultural archive.

Stylistic features of diplomatic correspondence
Abstract
the article examines the stylistic features of diplomatic correspondence. Nowadays, when there are many military clashes in the world, polishing the language of diplomacy is of particular value. All the more important is the work on cognitive linguistics, which examines the norms and rules of professionally competent writing of texts on diplomatic correspondence. At the very beginning of the work, as required by logic, the definition of the central concept is given. Based on this, the article lists several basic requirements for stylistic features that should be followed in diplomatic correspondence today. The article also raises such a fact as a controversy with some linguistic scientists. At the same time, their authority is not questioned at all. It is noteworthy that the ideas of leading linguists have not been infringed in any way, but the necessary amendments and adjustments are being made in order to establish a number of theoretical provisions on the essence of the analyzed issue. We consider the dosed division of the diplomatic text into a plan of content and a plan of expression to be a separate and important page of this work. These are well-known concepts in linguistics, however, they can be interpreted very broadly, depending on the goals and objectives of the work.
