Abstract

The article describes the concept and the process model of the contemporary online lecture in literature with regards to its subject and metasubject. The thesis explains the experience of the Akmullah Bashkir State Pedagogical University Russian Literature Department. Their experience shows how the content and structure of a lecture is implemented in the new intermedial format, how the verbal and text stem is complemented with various multimedia elements by using a convergent educational.

Abstract

The article is devoted to the problems of organizing language material when teaching French as a second foreign language. Relying on the comparative analysis of the linguistic systems of the contacting languages the author establishes three categories of phenomena specific to the conditions of teaching a second foreign language, and, depending on the degree of coincidence, offers various ways of dealing with interlingual transfer.

Audio Description as a Type of Intercultural Communication

Abstract

The article offers an analysis of audio description as a type of intercultural communication relying on the educational programme “Audio description and intercultural communication”, implemented at Moscow State Linguistic University. The author shows that “typhlocommenting” is a type of translation which involves a work of visual art, an audio describer and a visually-impaired person. The implementation of methods of cultural transposition contributes to a better adaptation of an audiovisual work for a visually-impaired person.

Increasing the Preadaptive Capacity of Independent Work of EFL Students in a Blended Learning Environment

Abstract

The paper describes new opportunities in teaching EFL students in a non-linguistic university to work independently, which appeared in connection with the transfer of the educational process to blended learning during the pandemic. It is pointed out that higher education should help the development of students’ ability for pre-adaptation - the ability to learn independently and retrain in conditions of uncertainty. The need to increase the pre-adaptive potential of students’ independent work, laid in the Federal State Educational Standards of Higher Education of the last generation, is emphasized.

Abstract

The article deals with polymodality as a lecturer’s strategy of effective management of academic and scientific processes subjected to digitalization. Based on TED conferences, the research discovers clusterings of polymodal verbal, visual and kinesthetic means correlating with focusing, cohesion and coherence. The article further suggests a number of models introducing polymodality in customized public speech. The findings of the research address a modern audience who prefer visual information channel.

Development of Sociocultural Competence through Gamification in Primary School

The article deals with the role of gamification used in the lessons of Spanish as a second foreign language in primary school with the aim of developing sociocultural competence. A special focus is given to the use of game elements to introduce basic cultural concepts.
