Teaching Professional Communication Skills to International Relations Students: Specific Features, Problems, Interactive Approach

Abstract

The article offers a theoretical and methodological perspective on teaching professional communication skills to International Relations students. Matters addressed include the specific nature of professional communication in a foreign language and the issues of teaching a language for professional purposes. The present paper also contains the analysis of a language course offered to students pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in International Relations. The author suggests using interactive teaching strategies enabling university students to efficiently acquire communication proficiency.
