Abstract
The article considers the results of a sociological survey conducted among the members of motorists’ online communities of the city district of Saransk in the social network Vkontakte. The structural features, the ways of organization and interaction as well as the reasons of joining the online communities are studied. The socio-demographic and status characteristics of the members of motorists’ online communities are shown. The conclusion is made about the influence of the subcultures of motorists on the present-day Russian society.
