The work analyzes in detail the main signs of Internet addiction, as well as the consequences of addiction for a person's mental health, including existing methods for correcting the dependent state. The purpose of the scientific work is to study the influence of Internet addiction on the health of an individual, his psychological state and emotional background. The object of this study is Internet addiction as a psychological phenomenon that manifests itself in different categories of the target audience on the network, including youth and adults. The subject of the study is psychoemotional states of addiction on the Internet, which include mental disorders, as well as social neglect, as well as various cognitive impairments, psychological mechanisms that contribute to the development of Internet addiction, as well as methods for correcting this addiction. The scientific novelty of the study consists in determining the exact mechanism of influence of this type of addiction on the emotional background of the individual, including the development of depression, as well as anxiety states. These studies pay attention to the general and specific, which affects not only the age group of users, but also the social aspect as a whole. In the context of the study, modern diagnostic criteria for analyzing the level of this addiction are proposed, providing opportunities not only to stabilize existing approaches to general correction.
