Dynamics of gender vocabulary change in the modern Russian language
Abstract
this article is devoted to the changes of gender vocabulary in modern Russian language due to the rapid development of society and frequent interlingual contacts. With the rise of women's status, the emergence of new professions and globalization, the Russian gender vocabulary tends to diversify, neutralize and cross-gender use. The aim of this study is to analyze in depth the main trends of these changes and their motives, to examine their impact on Russian language teaching and translation practice, and to propose appropriate teaching strategies and translation methods. The scientific novelty of the article lies in the fact that it not only reveals the internal regularities and external motives of gender lexical changes in the Russian language, but also, combining theoretical discussions with the analysis of specific cases, provides new theoretical justification and practical recommendations for Russian language teaching and translation, contributes to the in-depth development of Russian language research and innovations in language teaching practice.

Images of the USA and Romania in Jeffrey Archer’s novel ‘False Impression’
Abstract
the material of the study was artistic images and forms of their language actualization in Jeffrey Archer’s detective novel ‘False Impression’, where the writer presents his vision of a rather wide geographical space, encompassing countries such as the UK, the USA, Romania, Japan, and Russia. The article examines the images of two countries: Romania and the USA. The study uses linguistic, stylistic and cultural methods of research, allowing to analyze the specifics of language units used by the author in describing different countries and to identify Archer’s attitude to the countries, events, and the characters, and to define the author’s picture of the world. The study leads to the conclusion that the text helps to identify, on the one hand, individual characteristics of the author’s worldview and, on the other hand, the national-cultural picture of the world to which the author belongs. So, the author is generally positive about the USA, he stereotypically sees Americans as hardworking, businesslike, enterprising, ready to help each other in trouble, although some realities are depicted with gentle humor, while Romania and Romanians are described as degraded and frightened, having no prospect of improvement. The results (and materials) of the research can be used to develop the concept of language and artistic/linguistic world picture, as well as in the preparation of teaching manuals on cultural science and cultural linguistics.

A corpus–based study of the recognition of political metaphors with an example of President Vladimir Putin’s Message to the Federal Assembly
Abstract
political metaphors play a key role in conveying political messages, constructing political discourse, and shaping national image. In this study, 19 State of the Nation Addresses delivered by Vladimir Putin since 2000 were selected to build a specialized corpus. Using AntConc software for word frequency analysis and the extended and improved Metaphor Identification Procedure VU University Amsterdam (MIPVU) metaphor recognition program by Steen's team, common types of political metaphors in the corpus were identified. Taking this as a reference, the current market-leading machine translation service providers DeepL and Youdao Translator were further selected, and their effectiveness in recognizing and adapting these metaphors in Russian-Chinese cross-language translation was evaluated through comparative analysis. It is found that DeepL demonstrates high accuracy and adaptability when dealing with political metaphors involving deeper meanings and cultural nuances. In contrast, the directness of Youdao translation in translating more complex and culturally specific metaphors resulted in failing to adequately convey the deeper meanings of the original text. This study, due to the bottom-up approach to metaphor identification, is significantly more credible than the traditional top-down identification of metaphors based on subjective assumptions, and provides valuable references for model refinement of Russian political metaphors and training of machine translation tools for domain-specific adaptation. Through this study, it not only reveals the performance differences between different machine translation tools in dealing with political metaphors but also provides guidance for future translation practice and corpus construction.

Value-semantic space of English discourse
Abstract
English discourse is a model of linguistic actualization of such a cultural category as the national value of Great Britain. The value-semantic space of the phenomenon under study is formed through the prism of national consciousness, as well as vital, civil, political, confessional and cultural self-identification of English-speaking peoples. Despite multiculturalism, which saturates and permeates the language more actively and more densely every year, there are traditional attitudes and basic meanings of the British, the conceptual sphere of which is concentrated in the constitutive features of their speech activity. The value-marked discourse is based on the national peculiarities of the language of English-speaking communicants, concentrated in socio-historical and cultural traditions, the semantic space of which focuses on ideas about the priority moral and moral attitudes of the people. Thus, the conceptual sphere of the semantic space of English discourse consists of national values that act in speech as socio-cultural regulators that have a direct impact on the formation of linguistic specificity over the centuries of the country's history. Due to the constitutive features of the English language and such a culturological category of the value-semantic space of discourse as national values, it is possible to determine the ideological principles, the level of education, the territory of residence of the communicant and even what social class is inherent in it.

Translation of slang in political and economical texts
Abstract
this article discusses the main methods of translating slang and slang expressions. It also discusses the specifics of translating this type of expressions and constructions, and highlights the importance of this type of translation. It was noted that since slang changes quickly, it is necessary to take into account the time when choosing a translation method. Also, slang and its use are highly context-dependent. Thus, slang is very common in English-language texts. In 20 selected articles, 82 cases of using slang words and expressions were identified and analyzed. At the same time, slang is used much less frequently in Russian-language texts on similar topics. The study found that the main methods of translating slang units in these texts are: transformational, selection of similar expressions, descriptive translation, and interlinear translation. Transformational translation accounted for about 46% of the total number of translations. Russian-language texts are more neutral, while English-language texts are often much more emotionally charged. The selection of similar expressions accounted for 27% of translation cases. In cases where it is appropriate to preserve the imagery realized through slang, and also when this imagery coincides in both cultures and will be understandable to the audience, the translator resorts to this method of translation. Descriptive translation was used in 17% of cases. It is used when slang reflects the realities of life of the English-speaking audience, which are not familiar to the Russian-speaking audience. Another necessary condition is the impossibility of using transformation. Literal translation accounts for the remaining 10% of translations. It is used in cases where it is not possible to use other methods.

Phytonyms as a motivational base of coloratives in the modern language of fashion
Abstract
the article examines modern color names motivated by phytonymic vocabulary and functioning in the modern fashion dictionary. Coloratives act in the work as objects of linguacultural analysis, combining in a language unit the specificity of the worldview of native speakers and the actual linguistic features of the genesis of colorative vocabulary in the Russian language. In this regard, the author of the article relies on authoritative classifications of coloratives based on the generating groups of conceptual names. The so-called “glossy” fashion magazines “VOICE” and “MARIE CLAIR” served as the source of factual material. In the fashion discourse, the system of color names develops most rapidly, acquiring an increasingly complex structure. However, one of the factors remains unchanged – conceptual groups of generating names. In this regard, it seems appropriate to us to systematize this group of vocabulary based on this stable feature. Among the means of representing the conceptual sphere of color, color designations that go back to phytonyms occupy a special place. The conceptual connection between color and plant is the most ancient, ontological, due to which phytonyms act as prototype concepts in relation to color concepts. Plant vocabulary forms associative fields that serve as a cognitive basis for coloratives. In this article, the main groups of productive phytonymic names are identified and described, the dependence of the process of naming a color on the national and cultural features of language tools and their psychological perception, as well as synesthesia in the field of color and taste sensations associated with the perception of plant vocabulary are discovered.

Features of nonverbal means of communication as a way of expressing emotional states in the texts of A.P. Chekhov's early stories
Abstract
this article explores the analysis of nonverbal means of communication in the early works of A.P. Chekhov. The focus is on the functional role of nonverbal elements in conveying the emotional states of characters. The objective of the study is to analyze texts in which nonverbal means serve as key markers of emotional experiences, highlighting the inner conflicts and psychological conditions of the characters. To achieve this goal, the following tasks are undertaken: 1) to analyze the use of nonverbal means of communication in A.P. Chekhov’s early stories to identify their role in conveying the emotional states of characters; 2) to investigate how gestures, facial expressions, body movements, and eye contact, as well as characters’ interactions with surrounding objects, correlate with their inner experiences and emotions in the context of the stories' plots; 3) to examine how the context and environment of the characters influence the use of nonverbal means of communication. The study identifies the distinctive features of nonverbal means, their functional significance, and their impact on the reader’s perception of the text. The conducted analysis demonstrates that nonverbal means of communication in A.P. Chekhov’s works not only complement verbal elements but also serve as an independent tool for expressing emotions, significantly enhancing the artistic expressiveness and psychological depth of the narratives.

Matrix classification of aerospace-themed media text headlines: applied research and effectiveness analysis
Abstract
this article is dedicated to the applied research of the effectiveness of matrix classification of media text headlines, focused on aerospace themes. The study begins with an analysis of the functions and roles of headlines within the structure of media texts. The article examines the evolution of the headline's function from purely informative to a tool for capturing the reader's attention and shaping emotional perception, emphasizing the increasing importance of headlines in the context of information overload. To confirm the significance of the headline, a statistical study based on a survey of 100 respondents is presented, demonstrating the substantial impact of headline attractiveness on the decision to read the material. The article thoroughly analyzes two key characteristics of an effective headline: synsemanticity (connection to the content of the text) and autosemanticity (independent significance and attractiveness). Furthermore, an original matrix for classifying headlines is proposed, dividing them into types (objective and subjective) and categories (character-based, locative, temporal, situational, subject-based, form-indicating, generalizing, evaluative). The application of this matrix is demonstrated through examples of aerospace-themed headlines, allowing for the identification of specific features in their construction and determining the objectivity passport of the information source. In conclusion, the study summarizes the findings, demonstrating the effectiveness of the proposed matrix for systematizing the analysis of headlines and identifying trends in the coverage of aerospace themes in the media space, opening up prospects for further research and the development of effective media communication strategies in this field.

Features of the translation according to the economic texts (based on the material of the Harvard Business Review magazine) inside higher education
Abstract
this article discusses the problem of translating texts containing economic terms, knowledge of which is very important for the correct transmission of meaning. The translation of economic discourse is one of the most important, which will always be relevant, because the economy is an important area in the life of society all over the world, and interest in it is growing every day. In addition to economic terms, this paper will consider metaphors, the translation of which may cause certain difficulties. The transmission of the meaning of the so-called "economic metaphors" can be very different from that recorded in ordinary dictionaries. The difficulty of interpreting economic units into Russian is the fact that each country has its own economic and banking systems, which may differ greatly from the system of the translator's country. It is also important to mention the translation of various kinds of names, for example, the names of brands or enterprises from different fields. In the case of an incorrect translation that conveys a distorted meaning, a misunderstanding may occur. Many companies may consider this disrespectful if a linguist treats their company's translation lightly, which will indicate incompetence on the part of the translator, who is one of the company's representatives. The authors study the corpus of economic vocabulary in detail using the example of the article "An Alternative to Creative Destruction" from the popular science magazine Harvard Business Review. The economic layer of vocabulary is highlighted, on the basis of which this article is based, a summary table of terminology characteristic of economic discourse is compiled, a commonly used translation of words is given first, and then clarification occurs due to the use of the word in different contexts.

The issue of organizing the work of domestic and foreign war correspondents in the Balkan theater of the Russo-Turkish campaign
Abstract
one of the least studied issues of domestic military history remains the question dedicated to the functioning of the institute of war correspondents during the battles on the Balkan Peninsula. The Russo-Turkish War differed from usual campaigns, demonstrating in many respects a contradictory and even paradoxical nature. It was, perhaps, the first military action in the history of the Russian Empire that emerged independent of the will of the monarch and his closest entourage, being provoked by the powerful pressure of public consciousness. It was in this extraordinary situation in Russia that the influence of public opinion gained strength, effectively forcing the government to support the struggle of co-religious Slavs and to begin a military operation. The heightened interest of Russian society and the press in the events unfolding in the Balkans brought to the forefront the issue of the activities of correspondents accredited with the active army.

Satire, sarcasm, and folk humor in the fables of Said Chakhkiev
Abstract
the object of research in this article is the fabled work of the Ingush poet S. I. Chakhkiev. The fables "Lomi Viri" ("The Lion and the Donkey"), "Liigi khakhei" ("The Deer and the Pig") are analyzed, revealing the connection of this genre with both Ingush folk parables and fables of world literature. The article draws a parallel between the author's fables of S. Chakhkiev and folk humor, satire and sarcasm. Fables also occupy a special place in Said Chakhkiev's poetic arsenal. He wrote poetry, prose and dramatic works. Since childhood, Said Chakhkiev was familiar with the layer of satirical text of folk folklore, which became the foundation for further work in creating fables. Thus, S. Chakhkiev becomes the leading fable writer of Ingush literature of the second half of the twentieth century. The main idea of the fable lies in the etiquette of the people, which is based on the rules of honoring elders, observing the norms of rank differences. Using an apt vernacular, the author captures the reader's attention from the first lines.

Sobriety as an important factor of physical fitness of students
Abstract
any state is interested in a healthy population. This is especially true for the younger generation, since young people are the future of the country. Opinion polls, according to INTERFAX, indicate that respondents aged 18 to 24 years recognize their lifestyle as unhealthy. Objectively assess the physical condition of the body, which is one of the indicators of health, by identifying the level of physical fitness. But when assessing physical fitness, researchers often do not take into account the fact that sobriety is the foundation of health. If a student poisons his body with alcohol, tobacco and other intoxicants, the level of general health and physical fitness decreases, and, consequently, the level of performance. The purpose of our study was to identify the correlation between the presence of sobriety/sobriety and physical fitness of students of Industrial University of Tyumen, assigned to the main medical group. Using the methods of questionnaires and biomedical control tests (tests), the authors obtained results that allow us to conclude that the lack of sobriety negatively affects the physical fitness of the student. In connection with the revealed results of the study, the authors consider it relevant to introduce a block of knowledge about the theory of sobriety into educational programs, mandatory conduct of Sobriety lessons that form a sober worldview among students.

The role of reflection in teaching in the process of professional development of teachers and improving the quality of education
Abstract
this article is dedicated to analyzing the role of reflection in teaching with a focus on the professional development of educators and improving the quality of education. The relevance of the topic is due to the growing attention to reflective practices in educational research and the need to develop empirically grounded recommendations for their implementation. The study is based on a comprehensive methodology, including theoretical analysis, surveys, qualitative interviews, and statistical data processing. The sample covers 450 university educators in China. As a result, key parameters of reflection that influence the professional growth of educators (systematicity, criticality, feedback orientation) were identified, and a positive correlation between the level of reflectivity and teaching quality indicators was confirmed (r=0.68; p<0.01). A typology of reflective teaching styles was proposed. The findings open up prospects for the development of scientifically grounded programs for reflective development of educators and can be used in professional development and certification systems for teachers. Further research should be aimed at cross-cultural verification of conclusions and the expansion of methodological tools.

The study of legal norms as a factor in the formation of the legal culture of minors (on the example of Krasnodar)
Abstract
the relevance of the topic is due to the increase in the amount of legal information and the low level of legal culture of adolescents. The hypothesis of the study of the problem of improving the legal culture of adolescents is that the motivation to acquire legal knowledge depends on social factors and methods of socialization of adolescents. The article is based on the materials of a sociological study conducted in schools in Krasnodara in the period from November 20, 2023 to March 2024. 51 participants took part in it. The author's conclusion is that the problems of improving the legal culture of adolescents are complex. They are caused by social factors. The interconnection of social and legal foundations has been repeatedly emphasized by prominent Russian thinkers P.I. Novgorodtsev, G.F. Shershenevich and M.M. Bakhtin. The problems of reducing such a component of legal culture as legal awareness consist in a high degree of anomie of society, which is why the authority of teachers, parents, and existing teaching formats are questioned. Ignorance is widespread among teenagers. There is a need to identify areas for improving legislation that will allow the development of areas of legal culture shared by adolescents. This dictates the need for a second stage of the study, which should include adolescents living not only in the city, but also in rural areas. In the proposed article, the author shares the results of the first stage of the study.

Ensuring legal protection and promoting business freedom: the role of the Prosecutor's Office in supporting entrepreneurship in Russia
Abstract
the article considers the issue of the development of legal regulation of small and medium-sized entrepreneurs (SMEs), which is important for stimulating economic growth and innovation. At the moment, the potential of entrepreneurs in Russia remains largely untapped due to numerous bureaucratic obstacles, which include complex administrative procedures, insufficient state support, violations of the rights of entrepreneurs by regulatory authorities and poor coordination between business entities and government agencies. In particular, the role of the prosecutor's office in solving these issues and ensuring the legal protection of entrepreneurs is being investigated. The need for changes in the issue of state supervision with the independence of economic entities is emphasized, which proceeds from the logic of constitutional principles. The tools available to the prosecutor's supervision are highlighted, including monitoring the legality of regulations, conducting anti-corruption inspections and the procedure for providing accessible mechanisms for appealing improper inspections. The proposed measures include optimizing administrative processes, improving interaction between government agencies and business entities, and introducing stricter control measures to prevent abuse by State authorities. These steps are aimed at creating a balanced and beneficial environment for entrepreneurship, thereby contributing to the sustainable economic development of the Russian state.

Problems of defamation qualification in Russian criminal law
Abstract
libel as a crime in the criminal law of the Russian Federation is a complex legal category that causes numerous disputes and questions related to its qualification. One of the main problems that arise in the process of qualifying this crime is proving the defamatory nature of the information disseminated, as well as their inconsistency with reality. Also, in legal practice, difficulties often arise in distinguishing offense from libel, which makes it difficult to qualify the relevant acts. The consolidation of criminal liability for defamation in the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation is a measure of state protection of the honor and dignity of citizens. This is due to the desire of the State to ensure respect for human rights and freedoms, as well as the maintenance of the moral foundations of society. This is especially important in the context of modern information technologies, when the dissemination of information occurs instantly and can reach an unlimited wide audience. The Criminal law distinguishes between several forms of defamation, including those depending on the scale of the consequences and the media used. An important characteristic is premeditation of libel – in order for an action to be qualified as libel, it is necessary that the person is aware of the unreliability of the information and wants to spread it. The purpose of this study is to analyze the problems of defamation qualification in Russian criminal law. The problems of defamation qualification in Russian criminal law are closely related to the difficulties of establishing the intentions of the accused, as well as the ambiguity of interpretation of such a concept as «individually unidentified persons». To effectively solve these problems, it is necessary to further develop legislation, law enforcement practice, as well as the continuation of scientific research related to this issue.

The legal culture of minors as a result of the historical development of law in Russia
Abstract
in the article, the author identifies the result of the action of legal norms and basic values as the formation of a certain type of legal culture of minors based on the analysis of legislative acts of medieval Russia and Russia's established statehood. A sociocultural approach to the analysis of legal phenomena was used for writing. The period chosen by the author to track the transformation of legal norms indicates the influence of customary law norms on legislative legal sources. The author argues the reasons for the registration of the citizenship culture of minors. In the author's opinion, it took shape later, after granting minors a specific legal status. It arose as a result of awareness of the special nature of childhood. During the period of medieval Russia, neither the legal nor the psychophysiological features of childhood were noted. This was due to the high infant mortality rate. The results of the author's research are the creation of a classification of the stages of formation of the legal culture of minors.
