Abstract

the purpose of this study is to determine how professional development affects job satisfaction of teachers. The scientific novelty consists in the fact that for the first time the importance of professional development as a factor in determining job satisfaction is proven. Higher education teachers must meet the high demands of modern students, and the relationship between their professional development and job satisfaction is crucial for increasing their motivation to work and the quality of education. This article examines the paths of professional development of higher education teachers and their impact on job satisfaction. By analyzing the work environment of teachers, work-related stress and professional burnout, the study explains how professional development directly affects job satisfaction of teachers and offers specific strategies for improving professional achievements. This study presents a theoretical basis and practical recommendations for improving job satisfaction and professional development of higher education teachers. As a result, it has been proven that professional development and a sense of job satisfaction can be ensured by: 1) providing opportunities for regular professional development, organizing seminars and inter-university exchanges; 2) ensuring career development at different stages as an opportunity for each teacher to improve in accordance with their own pace and needs; 3) introducing a mentoring system or support for young people by the university management as a guarantee of continuity and transfer of experience.
