The article analyzes the phenomenon of ethnic identity in the framework of the concept and the empirical study experience. Particular attention is paid to the peculiarities of the development of ethnic identity among youth students. The results of recent studies by domestic scientists, including the effectiveness of psychological training as a way to develop positive ethnic identity among students, are discussed.

The article examines the psychological features of the course of intrapersonal conflicts in adolescence. The results of an empirical study of dominant conflicts during adolescence are presented.

The paper considers various approaches to the study of psychological defense mechanisms of personality. An overview of this phenomenon in the works of foreign and domestic psychologists is provided. The authors describe the features of defense mechanisms in young males and females.

The article discusses the problem of understanding nonverbal behavior. The authors analyze the survey results describing the level of nonverbal behavior understanding among students. As a result, a psychological training program for improving students’ abilities to understand nonverbal behavior is developed.

The article describes the results of an empirical study that examined the indicators of life-purpose understanding, the level of life purpose understanding and personal maturity among students of educational psychology. In particular, the data of a correlation analysis are presented which shows the connection between life-purpose understanding of the students and indicators of their personal maturity.
