Abstract
This article presents an integrative theoretical model of the job search experience of adults with high-functioning autism based on a phenomenological approach. An analysis of qualitative studies has identified five key components: cognitive, emotional,
behavioural, social, and existential. The model demonstrates the dynamic interrelationships between the components, reflecting the complexity of the subjective experience of neurodiverse individuals. The work overcomes the limitations of deficit-oriented approaches by providing a basis for the development of personalised psychological support programmes and inclusive employment practices. The results contribute to the development of phenomenological psychology of neurodiversity and the formation of a new paradigm for understanding the professional adaptation of people with autism.
