Trofimov A.O., Eremina N.A., Trofimova K.A., Kalentev G.V., Bragin D.E., Sevryukov F.A.

Abstract

the aim of this study was to evaluate the relationship between oculomotor synergies and brain oxygen status in mild traumatic brain injury (mTBI) using a simultaneous comparison of eye tracking (ET) and cerebral oxygenation parameters. Materials and methods. This non-randomized, single-center prospective study included 77 patients with mTBI (mean age 36.3 ± 4.8 years, 48 men, 29 women, median Glasgow Coma Scale 13.7 ± 0.7). Cerebral oximetry was used to determine the oxygen saturation level (SctO2) in the frontal lobe pole region (FLP). Eye movements were measured simultaneously using EyeTracker. The calculated parameters were: vertical and horizontal angular velocity of the eyeball (VA); left vertical angular velocity (LVAV); right vertical angular velocity (RVAV); left horizontal angular velocity (LHAV); and right horizontal angular velocity (RHAV). The vertical and horizontal ocular vergence reactivity index (VRx) were calculated as the Pearson’s correlation coefficient between the corresponding angular velocities of the right and left eyes. Significance was preset at p < 0.05. Results. SctO2 in FLP ranged from 62% to 79. The mean SctO2 values were 69.26 ± 6.96% compared to the left FLP and 70.25 ± 7.58% compared to the right FLP (p = 0.40). Overall analysis of the eye tracking data revealed the following eye tracking parameter values: LVAV 0.327 ± 0.263 rad/sec; LHAV 0.201 ± 0.164 rad/sec; RVAV 0.361±0.269 rad/sec; and RHAV 0.197±0.124 rad/sec. The estimated vertical vergence reactivity index (VVx) was 0.80±0.12. The estimated horizontal vergence reactivity index (HVx) was 0.82±0.11. VVx and HVx correlated with SctO2 levels in the corresponding LPD (p=0.038; r=0.235; p=0.048; r=0.218, respectively, p=0.035; r=0.241; p=0.039; r=0.235, respectively). Conclusions. VVx and HVx correlate with SctO2 level in FLP (p<0.01) in mTBI. No significant correlation was found between SctO2 levels and vertical and horizontal angular velocities of the eyeballs. ET may help to quantify the severity of ocular movement disturbances after mTBI and to study the contribution of cerebral oxygenation impairment to this process.

Khanmurzaeva N.B., Osmanova T.T., Khanmurzaeva S.B., Budaichiev G.M.

Abstract

chronic inflammatory periodontal diseases, particularly in patients with autoimmune disorders such as rheumatoid arthritis and systemic lupus erythematosus, lead to progressive tissue destruction and reduced quality of life. The primary aim of this study was to evaluate the efficacy of low-dose corticosteroids in the regeneration of periodontal tissues in such patients. This double-blind, randomized controlled clinical trial included patients with autoimmune conditions and moderate to severe periodontitis. The test group received low doses of prednisolone (5 mg) combined with standard periodontal therapy, while the control group received a placebo. Outcomes were assessed through clinical, biochemical, and immunohistochemical methods, including radiography and patient-reported surveys. Results indicated a significant reduction in pocket depth and inflammatory markers in the test group, highlighting the anti-inflammatory effects of corticosteroids and improvements in bone tissue condition. Conclusions confirm that low-dose corticosteroids can be effectively applied in periodontal treatment for patients with autoimmune disorders, promoting tissue recovery and enhancing quality of life.

Sleep quality and sleep disorders in medical students

Nikolaeva O.V., Nikolaeva T.E., Awale H., El B.K.

Abstract

sleep and its characteristics are an important subject of scientific research both in the field of humanities and in the field of medical and biological knowledge. Of particular interest are studies of the health status of medical students in the context of sleep and its disorders. Existing studies convincingly show that medical students have sleep problems, which negatively affects their academic performance. This paper aims to study the quality of sleep and sleep disorders in medical students. A total of 133 junior medical students with an average age of 20.69±4.09 years were surveyed online using the Sleep Quality Questionnaire (Nikolaev et al., 2024). It was found that more than half of them (60.15%) have a disrupted night sleep schedule, and every third sleep duration (33.08%) does not reach the physiological norm. From 3% to 46% of students have sleep disorders in the form of parasomnias. It was also found that the quality of their sleep is closely related to indicators of physical and psychological well-being. In this regard, it is obvious that there is a need not only to more widely inform medical students about the need to maintain a responsible attitude to such an important physiological function as sleep. No less important is the organization of preventive measures aimed at improving the psychological well-being of students by providing accessible psychological assistance at the place of study, including anonymously.

Dynamics of acute-phase response, cytolysis and iron metabolism disorders moderate to severe COVID-19

Ignatenko M.Y., Kochkarova E.V., Izmaylova N.V.

Abstract

the acute phase response is an important mechanism in coronavirus disease (COVID-19). As part of this process, interleukin-6 stimulates hepatocytes to produce acute phase proteins such as CRP and ferritin. However, hyperferritinemia can also be caused by other mechanisms. In particular, cytolysis and systemic disorders of iron metabolism are important in COVID-19. An increase in aminotransferase levels is indicative of cytolysis. Therefore, a comparison of these parameters will facilitate the study and comparison of the dynamics of acute-phase response, cytolysis, and systemic iron metabolism disorders in patients with SARS-CoV-2 infection. Consequently, the analysis of these parameters will facilitate the study and comparison of the dynamics of acute phase response, cytolysis, and systemic iron metabolism disorders in patients with COVD-19. The objective of our study was to examine the dynamics of interleukin-6, C-reactive protein, ferritin, aspartate aminotransferase, and alanine aminotransferase in patients with moderate to severe COVID-19 that does not require anti-interleukin therapy. The study included 19 patients with COVID-19 who were treated with glucocorticoids and anticoagulants but not receiving any anticytokine therapy due to the nonsevere course of the disease. The five parameters above were studied on the first day of enrollment and by the end of the first week of treatment. Concentrations of interleukin-6 and C-reactive protein decreased markedly (by more than 90%, p<0,001) from the initial elevated levels during this period. In contrast, the levels of ferritin and aspartate aminotransferase remained unchanged, exhibiting a tendency to increase. Concurrently, alanine aminotransferase levels exhibited a notable surge of 224,2% (p=0,003). Consequently, the dynamics of the acute-phase response did not align with the changes in cytolysis and iron metabolism imbalance indices. Meanwhile, the latter two processes contribute to the complications of the infection, including long COVID. Further investigation is necessary to elucidate the mechanisms and adverse outcomes associated with these phenomena.

Trofimov A.O., Eremina N.A., Trofimova K.A., Kalentev G.V., Bragin D.E., Sevryukov F.A.

Abstract

the aim was to study the changes of cerebral microcirculation, oxygenation, and hydration in the foci of posttraumatic "penumbra" (PP) in patients with isolated moderate traumatic brain injury (TBI). Materials and Methods. Seventy-seven adult patients with moderate TBI (women 35; men 42, median age 37 years) were included in a retrospective, non-randomized, single-center study. Inclusion criteria: Glasgow Coma Scale (GCS) < 13 and > 10 at admission; perfusion computed tomography (PCT) performed within 2 days after injury and admission; unilateral frontal/frontotemporal lesions. All patients underwent PCT, which measured net water uptake (NWU) in the PP, as well as microcirculation parameters: cerebral blood flow (CBF), regional cerebral blood volume (CBV), mean transit time (MTT), and time to peak concentration (TTP). Cerebral saturation (SctO2) was assessed using near-infrared spectroscopy in the frontal lobes simultaneously with PCT or immediately after it. Data are presented as median [interquartile range]. Parametric and nonparametric statistical methods were used for the analysis. Results. Elevated NWU values in PP zone were statistically significantly correlated with CBV (p < 0.001) and inversely correlated with TTP, CBF, and SctO2 (p < 0.05). No significant correlations were found between NWU in PP and MTT (p > 0.05). Conclusion. Brain edema after moderate TBI correlates with cerebral microcirculation and saturation parameters (CBF, CBV, TTP and SctO2).

Abstract

introduction: pigmented villonodular synovitis (PVNS) is an extraordinary lesion affecting the synovium of joints, tendon sheaths, or bursae, with only approximately 2.5% of instances involving the ankle. Previously idea to be a form of synovial malignancy, PVNS stays a disease with uncertain etiology. Treatment approaches for PVNS vary based on disease form. In localized PVNS, partial synovial capsulectomy (removal of a limited section of the capsule, including both synovial and fibrous layers) is usually adequate. However, in diffuse PVNS, irrespective of disease stage, total synovial capsulectomy is recommended as the initial step in treatment. Case report: In this case report, we provide a 17-years old female patient. with a 13-month history of innovative, deep-seated pain and swelling inside the anteromedial issue of the proper ankle. Radiological assessment, which includes MRI, cautioned pigmented villonodular synovitis (PVNS). Conclusion: For effective PVNS treatment, especially in rare sites like the ankle, complete excision with radical synovectomy is essential. Long-term success relies on precise removal, though diffuse PVNS may require multiple surgeries. The extent of tissue involvement and bone impact are critical, highlighting the need for skilled surgical expertise.

Konovalov V.O., Chellenyak V.N., Egorkina T.Y., Abdullova S.R., Peturova E.E.

Abstract

modern medical science is actively developing interdisciplinary approaches aimed at introducing psychological techniques into traditional therapeutic practices. The research focuses on the analysis of key vectors of interaction between clinical psychology and practical medicine, forming a new paradigm of complex treatment of patients. The purpose of this study is to identify promising areas for the integration of medicine and psychology. The modern approach to patient treatment is based on the integrated use of traditional medical methods in conjunction with psychological support. Qualified specialists develop individual therapy programs, including drug treatment, psychotherapeutic support and training in self-regulation methods. An integrated approach can significantly reduce the risk of concomitant psychological disorders that negatively affect the recovery process. The active development of scientific research in the field of medical and psychological integration contributes to the creation of innovative therapeutic protocols that take into account the physical and mental state of patients, which significantly increases the effectiveness of the treatment process.

The relationship between introversion-extraversion and the creativity of artists

Kucher I.V.

Abstract

the question of creativity attracts significant attention from researchers in the field of psychology. Modern understanding of the essence of creativity is related to thinking, motivation, and personality factors. Depending on these factors, individuals may exhibit various forms of creative strategies. One such factor is introversion-extraversion, which regulates the modes of creative exploration. The issue of creativity is particularly pronounced in the arts, where introversion-extraversion can play an important role in the creation of artistic works. Our study is aimed at exploring the relationship between creativity and introversion-extraversion among artists. Using E.P. Torrance's tests of creative thinking and G.Yu. Eysenck's psychological type assessment, we identified a correlation between creativity and introversion-extraversion in artists. We distinguished three groups of artists: deep introverts, moderate introverts, and extraverts. Using the Kruskal-Wallis test, we found that the highest level of creativity is observed in artists with a moderate level of introversion.

The model of neuroabdominal recovery of patients

Yagudin D.R., Ruzanov A.A., Kaptilnaya N.A.

Abstract

from a physiological point of view, surgical operations cause patients to experience multicomponent stress, as the functions of vital systems and organs are disrupted in humans. Being in bed rest during the postoperative period, patients are in a state of hypokinesia, that is, reduced motor activity. That is why in modern science it is considered relevant to manage patients after surgery as part of rehabilitation measures. Various rehabilitation techniques are actively used for rehabilitation within the framework of abdominal rehabilitation, which will be discussed in this article. Initially, the author of the article investigated the concept of neuroabdominal recovery. Further in the article, the features of the abdominal recovery technique were studied by D.R. Yagudin. Then the author considered and defined the role of visceral (abdominal) massage as a technique of neuroabdominal recovery. Based on the theoretical analysis, the author of the article has developed a model of neuroabdominal recovery of patients. Based on the conducted research, D.R. Yagudin suggests the following definition of patients' neuroabdominal recovery. Neuroabdominal recovery should be understood as a method of rehabilitation measures for the patient, which involves the integrated use of recovery tools: medications, neurobiological rehabilitation tools, as well as the use of visceral (abdominal) abdominal massage.

Training as a means of forming effective strategies of behavior of future conflictologists

Budovskaya I.V.

Abstract

in the context of globalization, social change and cultural diversity, the likelihood of conflicts is increasing, which requires specialists in the field of conflictology to have not only deep theoretical knowledge, but also practical skills in conflict management. Social changes associated with the transition of societies to new stages of economic and political development can also become a source of tension, especially in those regions where traditional values sharply contradict modern trends. Trainings, as a form of active and interactive learning, are becoming an important tool in the preparation of future conflictologists. They contribute to the development of key competencies such as emotional intelligence, communication skills, conflict resolution and effective leadership. In addition, the practical application of knowledge in a safe and controlled training environment allows future specialists to experiment with various behavior strategies, analyzing the consequences of their actions. Thus, the study of the role of trainings in the formation of effective behavior strategies in conflictologists will not only enrich the scientific literature, but also offer practical recommendations for educational institutions working in the field of training specialists in conflict management. This, in turn, will improve the quality of education and prepare future professionals for successful implementation in their activities.

Disturbing personality traits

Gadzhieva U.B.

Abstract

anxiety affects both the generation of children and the adult population. To find out how stressful situations can have devastating effects on the human brain, researchers continue to analyze at all age stages. At the present stage of development, the destructive effect of stress on the brain of the adult generation is clearly visible. The brain condition of a young child is no exception in this regard. In fact, many scientists agree that the stressful situation and anxiety experienced by a young child negatively affects his future life. The constant negative stress that surrounds a young child leads to irreversible damage to the child's brain. The younger generation is the most sensitive part of society. In this regard, it is the child who becomes most sensitive to various negative manifestations. As a result of numerous experimental studies, it has been revealed that the most common manifestation in children is an increase in anxiety and fear. And this determines the urgency of the issue of anxiety among the younger generation.

The relationship between professional well-being and professional burnout of IT development specialists

Sabitova E.A.

Abstract

the study revealed the features of professional well-being and burnout of specialists in the field of IT development, and also showed the relationship between them. The empirical verification of the research hypotheses was carried out on a sample of 152 IT specialists living in different cities and working in different companies, with an average age of 31 years, an average experience in IT of 7 years, and 3.5 years at their current place of work. Research methods: a questionnaire with biographical data – age, gender, position, work experience, a new version of the professional burnout questionnaire by Vodopyanova N.E. (2023) was used to study burnout syndrome, the methodology of A.A. Oboznov and co-authors (2020) was used to study professional well-being. According to the results of the study, emotional exhaustion and depersonalization are most pronounced among the respondents, while the reduction of professional achievements is less characteristic. Among the components of professional well-being, socio-professional demand is most pronounced. It is specific that as the severity of burnout increases, the components associated with passion for work and a positive attitude towards it, meaningfulness, independence and personal relevance of a professional in the organization are practically not subject to change. The analysis of interrelations revealed a negative correlation between the general level of professional burnout and the perception of the profession's relevance in society. The results obtained can be used in the development of psychological support programs for IT specialists within the framework of the subject-resource approach.

psychology of neurodynamic disorders in mental activity Algorithm of influence on consciousness by means of the unconscious

Yagudin D.R., Kurkova I.V.

Abstract

the article is devoted to the current problem of the influence of the unconscious on consciousness. Our unconscious part of the brain contains hundreds of times more information than the conscious component. Consciousness is a reflection of the objective material world in the human mind and the sum of various psychological processes. Consciousness and subconsciousness are two aspects of the unity of opposites that make up the psychological whole of a person. Consciousness is based on the existence of the subconscious and is its condition. The subconscious dominates and is limited by consciousness. Consciousness is the highest regulator of the subconscious and even of all psychological activity. Consciousness and subconsciousness influence each other and depend on each other, and are also transformed into each other under certain conditions. Consciousness has functional characteristics such as cognition, experience, purpose, control, thinking and creativity. It is the sum of all conscious psychological actions. The forms of consciousness are reason, logic, paradigm, judgment, reasoning, conscience and moral sense. Understanding the functional characteristics and forms of consciousness activity, it is easy to see that consciousness is the source of individual thoughts and power. The subconscious has such functional characteristics as cognition, experience, storage, learning, creation. It is the sum of all psychological actions that people do not know about. The forms of subconscious activity are intuition, emotion, conviction, encouragement, suggestion, imagination, general system, memory and creativity. The subconscious is not limited by time and space. It contains innate instincts, past feelings and wisdom of a person, present consciousness and knowledge, as well as thoughts and insights about the future and has enormous possibilities of transmission and reception. In this direction, it is necessary to work on the subconscious in order to form the necessary directions of consciousness.

Features of value orientations in the structure of the worldview of high school students

Burmako A.K.

Abstract

the article analyzes psychological and pedagogical studies of value orientations in the structure of the worldview of high school students. An empirical study was conducted in which 67 high school students of grades 10-11 participated, of which 28 were boys and 39 were girls. The Sh. Schwartz's questionnaire was used to study value orientations adaptation by V.N. Karandashev. The ranking indicators of the respondents' value orientations have been established. A qualitative analysis showed that high school students have a predominance of a personal focus of openness to change and a desire for self-affirmation. Comparative analysis did not confirm gender differences in value orientations in the structure of the worldview of high school students. Combinations of opposing value orientations in the structure of the worldview of high school students are revealed: on the one hand, the desire for an exciting and diverse life, on the other hand, understanding, tolerance and protection of the well-being of other people. The manifestations of independence conflict with the preservation of traditions and customs of culture and religion. Conflicting value orientations in the worldview of high school students are the desire for achievement, kindness versus the expression of self-affirmation values. Correlations between the indicators of "achievement" – "power", "conformity" – "tradition" and "security" – "universalism" are revealed. The indicator "safety" has correlations with all value orientations in the structure of the worldview of high school students.

Psycholinguistic methods as a means of analyzing written texts in a journalistic style

Ladygin T.A.

Abstract

this article is devoted to a topic that has been of interest to linguists for a very long time, has been comprehensively studied and is constantly being revealed from new, sometimes unexpected sides – the study of written information, in particular, textual information. I see several main questions related to this topic, namely: How can I get information from the text, how much of this information can I get and what will the information give me, or how and where can I use this information. But most of all, as a researcher, I am interested in the issue of obtaining information that is not on the surface. The novelty of my research lies in the approach to text analysis, it consists in the application of psycholinguistic methods. While reviewing various sources of information, I have not found any scientific articles containing an experiment on the analysis of written texts using psycholinguistics methods. In particular, the analysis of texts related to journalistic style. Thus, this article is an alternative view of obtaining information from texts, an attempt to extract from them the data that cannot be obtained using all the methods that have been used so far. This is a test of how much information can be hidden from a researcher relying on already known methods, as well as the possible application of new data obtained by experimental methods.

Passive aggression: etiology, manifestations, and correction in the context of interpersonal relations

Vlasova E.V.

Abstract

this article provides a comprehensive analysis of passive aggression, examining its etiological factors, phenomenological manifestations, and effective correction strategies. Passive aggression is viewed as a result of psychological defense mechanisms, where internal conflicts and repressed emotions manifest as indirect aggression, complicating constructive interactions with others. We emphasize the multifactorial nature of this phenomenon, including personality traits, negative early developmental experiences, and sociocultural influences. Passive-aggressive behavior is expressed in various forms, such as sabotage and procrastination, leading to destructive interpersonal relationships and deterioration of mental health. The study also explores the impact of introversion and extraversion on aggressive impulses and their connection to behavior.

In order to specify the definition of "virtual reality" is considered in the article based on the theories of such Russian authors as: E.P. Belinskaya, A.V. Voyskunsky, A.M. Demilkhanova, A.E. Zhichkina, M.S. It is revealed that virtual reality is endowed with physical, psychological, social, technical nature, determined objectively in relation to its reality. N.A. Nosov highlights such indicators of virtual reality as generation, relevance, autonomy, interactivity. The difficulty of its empirical study and understanding is that, on the one hand, it exists, and on the other hand, it is formally absent; its understanding is associated with the perception of the subject-user. Theoretical analysis of domestic and foreign works showed that the definition of the characteristics of Internet activity is also a problematic field, since scientific research on this topic in psychology is few in number, the terminology is defined by some authors (F.P.Kh.F. Pryus, A.S. Tishkova) as requiring replenishment and clarification. It is indicated that Internet activity, as a psychological phenomenon, is the activity of a subject-user on the Internet in order to satisfy information and communication needs using IT technologies. The pole of its impact on the subject-user - from negative to positive, is determined by the purpose and specific focus of the subject himself. Internet activity allows one to realize the individual’s need to become a virtual collective subject. In this regard, it is necessary to continue to study the specifics of virtual reality and the consequences of the activity of subjects-users on the Internet.

Model of organizing human knowledge of the around world

Mungalov V.N.

Abstract

consideration of the organization of human cognition of the surrounding world through the analysis of such cognitive processes as sensation, perception, memory, attention, thinking, speech at the present stage of development of psychological science does not seem accurate enough. This article presents a model for organizing the process of human cognition of the surrounding world from a post-non-classical position. The basis of cognitive activity is a sensory reflection of the surrounding reality (emotions and perception). Attention and speech are tools of cognition that increase the efficiency of cognitive activity. Attention is considered as the direction of sensory systems into an area of interest in the surrounding world that is subject to cognition. And speech becomes a tool for structuring the process of cognition. Thanks to speech, sensory reflection becomes abstract, devoid of the attributes of sensuality, and human thinking is born. Memory is not strictly a mental process. Memory is considered as a general property of matter. This model of the organization of cognitive activity allows us to systematically approach the development of empirical research programs in this area, as well as the organization of teaching topics related to the process of cognition within the framework of general psychology for psychological areas.
