Abstract
the article examines the interrelated processes of globalisation, de-globalisation and re-globalisation through the lens of five prominent German-language media outlets. The main aim of the study is to analyse how these media platforms navigate and represent global, regional and national trends in response to changing political, economic and social dynamics. The article examines the evolving strategies of these media in adapting to both global interconnectedness and emerging nationalist or protectionist sentiments. The research novelty lies in the comparative approach to analysing the role of media in these complex processes, which provides a deeper understanding of how media can both influence and reflect broad geopolitical shifts. The findings show that while globalisation continues to shape media content and coverage, the recent wave of de-globalisation has caused a re-assertion of national identities in media narratives. However, the ongoing process of re-globalisation is evident in the media's attempts to balance local relevance with global connectivity, demonstrating a dynamic, adaptive response to global events.
