The article presents an analysis of the indexes differentiating between the regional economies of the Volga Federal District over 2005-2010. A number of solutions to overcome the socio-economic gap between the regions of the Volga Federal District are suggested.

The author presents a study of the loans to legal entities of the Mordovian branch of JSC "Sberbank of Russia".
