The article considers occurrences of verbal aggression in media texts. The results a content-analysis of lexemes from newspapers and online media texts are presented. The influence of aggression in the media on the mental health of society is proved.

The article deals with the psychological methods of influencing the conversation partner by the TV host in the two talk shows of Channel One: "Vecherni Urgant" and "Pust govoryat". The authors conclude that the communicative means used by the TV hosts depend on the format of the talk shows and determine the level of impact on the conversation partner.
