The article considers the types and forms of social services. The authors focus on the algorithm of home services for elderly citizens. A survey of professionals providing home social services has revealed the specifics and problems of serving elderly customers at home.
Levels of interaction between classical university and the market of prospective students

The article presents the results of an analysis of the interaction between the National Research Lobachevsky State University of Nizhni Novgorod with various groups of prospective students. The levels of work with potential students of the university are considered.
Eap course students’ initial perceptions of a facebook group as a supplementary tool of efl education: a pilot research

Nowadays Facebook belongs to the everyday reality of most university students. The paper approaches this social networking site from an educational perspective. Thus, the goal of the pilot research is to study EAP students’ perceptions towards Facebook as an educational tool and their initial perceptions of using this social network in an EFL course. A small-scale (N=29), questionnaire-based qualitative survey was conducted in order to achieve the study objective. The findings are arranged to three categories: students’ use of Facebook in general; students’ use of Facebook for educational purposes; students’ initial perceptions of Facebook group as an extension of the EAP course.
Living conditions as a factor of young family adjustment to modern society
Resumo
The article considers the problem of adjustment of young families to the crisis conditions of modern Russia characterized by a variety of transient social, political, economic and cultural changes. A sociological survey conducted by the authors proves, on the one hand, living conditions as a positive factor, on the other hand as a factor of insufficient adjustment of Russian young family to modern society.
Housing availability for young families in Russia
Resumo
The article considers the origin of the “housing problem” and “housing need” concepts in a historical perspective. Studying the social significance of housing for young families is necessary for successful realization of family and demographic policy in Russia. A survey of young families of the urban district of Saransk demonstrates the social significance of housing problem in the life of a young family as a factor influencing its reproductive preferences.
The citizens attitude to the work of local police: a study of Saransk city
Resumo
The article considers the studying of public opinion as the basis of precinct police efficiency. Considering the results of an opinion survey of Saransk city citizens, the authors has revealed the main criteria of public assessment of precinct police efficiency and reasons for people's calling and visiting them. Some ways of improving the precinct police work are suggested.
Higher education quality assessment by students as a European requirement
Resumo
The article considers the participation of students in higher education quality assessment by means of an online survey (n=1511) conducted in 2015-2016 in a Russian university. The authors analyze the main parameters of students satisfaction with the quality of university training: informative and practical value of lectures and seminars, efficiency of teaching techniques, arrangement of internships and research work, equipment at research laboratories, student government activities.
