Youth's attitude towards internet piracy: a sociological analysis (a study of the city of saransk)
Abstract
The article deals with the problem of mass consumption of counterfeit content known as Internet piracy. Using the empirical data, the authors determine the level of awareness of young people and their attitude to the problem of online piracy. The factors that prevent young people from buying and using licensed products are studied.
Social justice and goals of state social policy in protection of the rights of citizens: a study of public opinion in Mordovia Republic
Abstract
The article considers the citizens' perception of their own level of social protection in the context of public opinion about social justice. The sociological survey conducted by the author reveals the views of residents of the Republic of Mordovia on social justice and goals of state social policy in the field of protection of the rights of citizens.
Behavior strategies of Mordovia Republic population in socio-economic crisis
Abstract
Considering the results of the author's sociological survey, the article determines the main behavior strategies of rural and urban residents of the Mordovia Republic under the conditions of socio-economic crisis. Some of the most common ways of investing financial resources in times of economic crisis are studied.
On Jewish contribution to the culture of Siberia: social and cultural aspects
Abstract
The article presents an analysis of the contribution of Jews to the social and cultural life of Siberia. Mutual tolerance of the ethnoses of Siberia promoted actualization of creative, spiritual and labour potential of the Jews as well as an increase in the business activity combined with social responsibility. The study shows that the peculiar features of Siberian Jews developed under the influence of the Siberian space into which the Jews have managed to integrate successfully, having become a part of the society of Siberia.
Manifestation of ethnic intolerance in a multi-ethnic region
Abstract
The article presents an interpretation of the problematic aspects of inter-ethnic relations in the Republic of Mordovia based on the date of sociological researchers "Monitoring of inter-ethnic and religious situation in the Republic of Mordovia" and "Monitoring of inter-ethnic and religious situation in the city of Saransk" (2016). The focus is on the dependence of the attitude to representatives of different nationalities on gender and place of residence of the respondents.
Implementation of educational function of modern family: some current issues
Abstract
The article considers the importance of educational function of the modern family in accordance with the up-to-date Russian research works. The impact of educational function of the family on the formation of child's personality is studied. A survey conducted by the author has identified the problems of implementation of educational function in modern families depending on their parenthood status.
Social adaptation of migrants: Russian and international experience
Abstract
The article considers the migration policies of Germany, Turkey, the USA and Russia. The author studies the countries' experience in integration and social adaptation of migrants. The results of a survey of the problems of migrants' social adaptation are included. The survey was conducted in the Nizhny Novgorod Region on the basis of the Interregional charity organization "Volga migration center".
Social counselling of women as а technique of social work
Abstract
The article analyzes the contradictions between the motives and results of social counselling of women as special and regular customers of a social service. The study includes the results of a survey of employees of the social service of Atyashevsky district of the Republic of Mordovia. The authors reveal the advantages and disadvantages of the activities of the social service in social counselling of women.
Assessing the success of maternity capital program: a study based on RLMS data
Abstract
The article includes an analysis of the impact of maternity capital program on the probability of birth of second and subsequent children. The study is based on RLMS data. A comparison of probability of giving birth before starting the program (2007) and after it is made. The author considers different factors that influence the probability of birth of second and subsequent children.
Features of suicide mortality due to alcohol intoxication: a study of the Republic of Mari El
Abstract
The article presents the results of an analysis of suicide mortality due to alcoholic intoxication in the Republic of Mari El. The study is based on the forensic data of the Bureau of Forensic Medical Examination of the Republic of Mari El. The authors consider the gender and age of suiciders committing "alcoholic" suicides in the Republic of Mari El. Seasonal, monthly and daily fluctuations of the suicides are also considered. The conclusion is made on the dependence of suicidal behavior on alcohol consumption.
