Abstract
The article presents an interpretation of the problematic aspects of inter-ethnic relations in the Republic of Mordovia based on the date of sociological researchers "Monitoring of inter-ethnic and religious situation in the Republic of Mordovia" and "Monitoring of inter-ethnic and religious situation in the city of Saransk" (2016). The focus is on the dependence of the attitude to representatives of different nationalities on gender and place of residence of the respondents.
