Abstract

the purpose of the study was to determine the relationship between the nature of the physical and motor experience of high school students and the specifics of their screen-digital experience. The following research methods were used: survey (questionnaire), analysis of variance. The study involved 427 people (105 students in grades 9-11 and 322 students from Smolensk State University of Sports). The results of the study indicate a statistically significant negative relationship between smartphone/computer usage time and the characteristics of physical and motor experience. Schoolchildren and students who spend more than 6 hours a day using smartphones/computers are less likely to evaluate the development of their motor qualities and abilities (speed, agility, endurance, strength, explosive power, coordination) and spatial abilities, motor activity at the moment. At the same time, they often had unusual experiences of their own body. The practical significance of the results indicates, firstly, the need to organize educational work among parents of children and adolescents regarding digital and information hygiene in the upbringing of the younger generation. Secondly, the need to organize a space for discussion with supporters of the digitalization of education regarding the consequences of this innovation for the bodily maturation of children and youth.
