Abstract
The article shows that the lexical categorization in both Chinese and English is based on conceptual structures that are regularly reproduced in the semantics of lexical units related to a specific subject area. Modeling the conceptual structure of the lexeme allows us to reveal the concepts that motivate its ambiguity and form categories. The study of the cognitive aspects of Chinese and English lexemes is based on a comprehensive analysis of the conceptual internal form of a lexical unit.
