Russian identity formation in the context of interaction of internal and external factors
摘要
This article discusses the features of the formation of national identity in the Russian Federation at the present stage. The problems and prospects in this area are identified, taking into account the interaction of internal and external factors. A conclusion is made that it is necessary to eliminate the problems that prevent the formation of national identity in the modern Russian state.
Politicized pro-government blogging in Russia: more criticism than servility
摘要
The article identifies the significant features of pro-government politicized blogging in Russia. In this connection the popular blog zergulio.livejournal.com is studied. The most important home problems highlighted in this blog and the objects of criticism are revealed. The conclusion is drawn about the low level of servility, but a rather high level of criticism of a number of government officials and pro-government cultural figures.
CSTO AND NATO: problems and prospects of cooperation, potential of military and political integration
摘要
The article analyzes the problems hindering the successful interaction of two military and political associations – NATO and CSTO. The study focuses on the interests and position of the Russian Federation, the situation within these organizations in terms of determining the potential of military and political integration and management of its development. Possible ways of resolving the contradictions and prospects of relations between the CSTO and NATO in the context of national and international security are considered.
Civilizational choice of Russia in the context of the XX century modernization theories

The article provides an analysis of options for development and modernization for Russia considering the experiences of Asian and Latin American countries. The authors come to a conclusion that the options for the modernization of our country are currently not confined to copying the western model. The application of the theories of dependency and partial modernization can be beneficial for the modern Russian economy.
Features of "new populism" in European union and USA
摘要
The article analyzes the factors of growth of the right-wing and left-wing populists in the European Union and the United States. The social and ideological background of new populism and the reasons for the growth of popularity of populist ideas are considered. The elections to the European Parliament in May 2019 and the US presidential elections in 2020 are studied in terms of the influence of populist ideas.
The history and current state of the relations between Moldova and Transnistria
摘要
The article considers the relations between Moldova and Transnistria from the collapse of the Soviet Union until now. The relations have always been tense, turning into the hot phase of conflict, then into the phase of economic warfare. The study of these two states at the present stage enables us to understand the origins of the conflict. Analyzing the current state of the relations, we can forecast the possible scenarios of the region development and understand the interests of Russia there.
Self-organization of national minorities: a study of Tibetans
摘要
Tibetans are one of the most numerous divided nations living around the world. The article describes the results of self-organization of Tibetans in India and other countries after mass immigration from the PRC after 1959. Tibetan Buddhism plays the main role in consolidating Tibetan communities, being the source of integration and international support for Tibetan society.
Applied methods in policy research: theory and potential for practical use in studying the problems of nation-building

This article considers the applied methods in policy research: expert survey, questionnaire, content analysis, cognitive mapping, focus groups, Internet monitoring, SWOT-analysis, scenario analysis. The authors show the need of using a complex of theoretical and applied research methods for finding effective solutions for political problems and tasks in the field of nation-building due to the practical orientation of political science.

The positive image of the state is a key element that assures the state’s foreign-policy success and an effective communication tool for various target groups. A significant part of the national image in collective conscience of international societies is promoted via mass media. The article deals with the features of Russia’s image cultivated by the British media.
The role of international organizations in global security: official standpoints of Russian political parties

The article studies the viewpoints of Russian parliamentary parties, fixed in their program and election documents, concerning the functioning of international organizations, the primary tasks of which are the maintenance of international peace and security and ensuring international stability. The comparative analysis of the party programs in the perspective of the issue in question is carried out. The general and specific provisions of the official standpoints of the parties are determined.
