Russian periodicals' role in the Mordvinian ethnic culture development: a study of izvestia Mordovii newspaper
Abstract
The Russian-language periodicals hold a special place in the development of ethnic culture of the Mordvinian people. The statement is proved by a wide range of topics covered by the reporters under the following sections: "Society", "Culture", "Sport", "Agriculture", "Money" and "Meet the Head of Mordovia", "Promotion", "Our Town", "Religion", "Health", "Consumer", "Tips and Tricks", "Housing", "Economy", "Events", "Education", "Ecology", "Politics", "News of Telecommunication Companies". Considering this quite a big list of rubrics, we can conclude that the information presented to the reader is diverse and includes the issues of various spheres. In this connection the materials by Catherine Spiridonova, who covers top cultural events in the region\'s life, are of major significance. For example, these are "Media: Mordovia Inhabited by 119 Ethnoses", "Channel Culture" and "World to Tell about the Culture of Mordovia", "Saransk to Host XVI Republican Festival "Shumbrat, Mordovia!". These journalistic texts prove the Mordvinian culture to be a relevant topic at present. The journalist emphasizes this fact in her texts.


Igoshina О.А. essay and sketch on pages of national media: a study of newspaper Yuldash
Abstract
The newspaper YULDASH stands out among the periodicals of Mordovia. Covering the life of the Tatar population, the newspaper journalists select such topics as «Personality», «Man of Labor», «Tatar Village», «Our events». The study proved the sketch and essay to be the main genres employed. But every author has his own view of the issues he writes about. Consequently, the sketch and essay presentation varies in order to catch the reader's attention.




Form and content of sports commentary in regional commercial television broadcasting
Abstract
The paper considers the development stages of sports commentary as a genre in the regional commercial television broadcasting. In particular the development factors and prospects are studied. Sports commentary is presented as a separate genre, as a kind of live broadcast. The Channel 10 demonstrates various methods of sports commenting, which depend on the technical conditions and coverage of a particular sport. The authors analyze the ways of joint and individual sports commenting as well as the style of speech of a journalist.


Interactive forms of media texts: a study of interview-talk in Izvestia Mordovii newspaper
Abstract
The paper considers the interview genre as one of the most popular interactive forms of communication in the Mordovian regional printed media. The authors study the interview as a part of Izvestia Mordovii newspaper content, taking into consideration mobility and mixed nature of this important genre. The practical examples prove the interview to be one of the much- demanded genres in the modern printed media as it is draws the reader's attention. Thus due to its emotion, simplicity and scale of impact, the interview remains one of the most relevenat sources of interactive dialogue.


Translation as a factor of ethnic culture formation and enrichment
Abstract
The author studies the origins of translation business in Mordovia. Particularly, the paper focuses on the forms and methods of this type of creative work, emphasizing its importance in the modern world. The examples demonstrate the functioning of Mordovian regional and district newspapers that include some translated materials. In this connection the author analyzes the types of translation typical for the Mordovian press. There is a direct connection between the reader's reception and socio-cultural factors. Therefore any foreign-language text is difficult to understand for the reader who has been brought up in the framework of his native language and civilization.


Ecological subject as integral part of modern mass media
Abstract
The paper considers the features of environmental topics coverage in modern mass media. In this connection two newspapers are analyzed: Komsomolskaya Pravda and Izvestia Mordovii. Particularly, the authors focus on a brief history of environmental journalism development.




Moral priorities of Mordovia journalists: a study of newspaper «Respublika Molodaya»
Abstract
The journalist, as a servant of society, should be concerned about the reader's moral improvement through his published materials. The following journalistic texts demonstarte a bright and quality coverage of the topic moral aspect. "Let's be Good" vividly shows the social organizations indifference to the problems and needs of people with disabilities. "Kremlin Christmas Tree Party" is a report about Kremlin Christmas party tickets granted to 25 disabled children. "Making People Friends is my Hobby" is a feature about a Mordovia woman's goodwill. She arranges social events for single people on a voluntary basis and free of charge. In "New Pavlik Morozov" the author draws the reader's attention to the problem of rising juvenile crime and offers solutions ("Respublika Molodaya" 1-12 January, 2011). The analyzed journalistic texts reveal the up-to-date moral issues of high importance: human indifference, cruelty, callousness and heartlessness.
