Conducting vocabulary work on the Russian language in the elementary grades of the national school

the article discusses issues related to vocabulary work in elementary grades of the national school. Minimal dictionaries are of great importance in this regard. The vocabulary selected in such minimum dictionaries should be well thought out. In the modern period, students do not always have the necessary active vocabulary. The vocabulary work that is carried out in primary schools of the national school does not ensure the fulfillment of program requirements. Minimum dictionaries should become the basis on which textbooks on the Russian language will be built. Textbook dictionaries should not be overloaded with new words. Such important issues, on the solution of which the success of vocabulary work depends, as the correspondence of the textbook vocabulary to the minimum vocabulary. They also include the inclusion of new words in a certain sequence and their repeatability, which are still waiting for their decision. Poor knowledge of the active vocabulary leads to the fact that students make many mistakes. It is necessary to strengthen vocabulary and semantic work. It is also important to use exercises with antonymic pairs and synonymous rows. The constant use of an associative dictionary in Russian language lessons will help to achieve high results.
