in the middle of the 18th century Makarii Petrovich wrote a new work on logic (in one of the copies, it is titled ‘Logic, compiled from various authors and conveniently arranged in Russian for use in Moscow in 1758 by the Moscow Academy preacher and hieromonk Makarii’), based on the Latin works of F. H. Baumeister and E. Pourchot. The text of the manual is written in a literary language that combines elements of Church Slavonic and Russian languages. Petrovich’s work contains the 17 new terms, which are used for the first time. The identifying new lexemes was carried out with «Dictionary of Old Russian Language of the 11th–14th Centuries», «Dictionary of Russian Language of the 11th–17th Centuries», «Dictionary of Russian Language of the 18th Century» and their card indexes, etymological dictionaries and the Russian National Corpus. The identified lexemes can be divided into three groups: philological (omonism, skholij (skholiya?), tropologicheskij) and philosophical (apagogicheskij, dogmatiko-scientifichnyj, erotematicheskij, ermevticheskij, logomahiya, sinkategorematichnyj, tetralemma, trilemma) terms and names of sciences (votanologiya, dendrologiya, kozmologiya, oriktologiya, teleologiya, hidrologiya). In some cases, despite the fact that Petrovich has the Latin text in front of him, he uses Modern Greek pronunciation. In particular, this applies to the reading of the letter ? as [v] (votanologiya) and the voicing of ? (kozmologiya), as well as the non-transmission of aspiration (omonism, ermevticheskij).
