Dialectisms as a resource for onomastic nomination

the article is devoted to an in-depth study of the role of dialect vocabulary as one of the key sources of onomastic nomination formation. The paper analyzes how words and expressions characteristic of local dialects are used to create proper names – Special attention is paid to the role of dialect units in shaping the local linguistic picture of the world, reflecting ethnocultural specifics, sacred and economic realities, and analyzing materials from the Kuban dialect, which represents a unique linguistic and cultural landscape for studying this phenomenon. Using specific examples from Kuban dialects, the specifics of the functioning of dialect units in various categories of onyms are considered in detail: as part of toponyms (names of geographical objects), anthroponyms (names of people), microtoponyms (names of small, local objects) and hydronyms (names of water bodies). The conclusion is made about the high nominative, cognitive and cultural significance of dialectal vocabulary in onomastics. The significant role of dialect units is emphasized, not just as names, but as information carriers involved in shaping the local linguistic picture of the world. They serve as a mirror reflecting the ethnocultural specifics of the region, its history, sacred beliefs and economic realities of the local population. Dialectisms in onomastics preserve the memory of the past and the unique worldview of speakers of the dialect. The analysis allows us to conclude that the importance of dialect vocabulary in the system of onomastics is indisputably high nominative (the ability to give names), cognitive (reflecting knowledge about the world) and cultural (connection with traditions and everyday life). The study of dialectal onyms is important for linguistics, cultural studies and the history of the region.
