Information structure and narrative strategies in A.P. Chekhov's stories about children: synthesis of linguopoetic approaches

the article is devoted to a multilevel analysis of the narrative organization of Anton Chekhov's children's stories of the 1880s ("Grisha", "The Fugitive", "A Day in the Country", "Doma"). For the first time, based on the material of handwritten versions of stories from a Complete Collection of works, the author traces the evolution of artistic solutions implemented in microscopic textual changes, both in vocabulary and in the organization of dialogue. Narrative analysis reveals the dialectic of the objective and the subjective: descriptions of the interior, specific metaphors, and the selection of verbal forms endow the narrative with a double, "split" optics that allows one to discover existential and social paradoxes through private childhood experiences. Special emphasis is placed on the emotive potential of the verbal paradigm, through which the author translates the dynamics of the emotional state of the characters and the rhythm of psychological changes. The author also discusses chronotopic organization in detail.: the correlation of cyclic children's time and linear adult time, spatial metaphors of existential captivity, referring to Dostoevsky's semiotics.
