Abstract
the article "The Influence of Greekisms on the Terminology of English Economics" explores the historical processes of integrating Greek borrowings into the English language, focusing on economic terminology. The aim of the study is to identify historical periods of the introduction of Greekisms, analyze the factors contributing to their spread, and thematically examine literary and scientific sources where these terms are used to describe economic concepts. The research methods include corpus analysis of terms, structural analysis, case studies, as well as percentage and quantitative counting. The results show that Greekisms have actively entered the English language through five historical periods: Ancient, Medieval, Renaissance, Enlightenment, and Modern. A total of 78 Greekisms were identified in economic terminology, of which 25 belong to general vocabulary, 12 to interdisciplinary vocabulary, and 16 to highly specialized vocabulary. The conclusions emphasize the scientific and international nature of Greekisms, their high frequency of use, and their influence on the development of English economic terminology.
