Abstract
It is devoted to the features of profit making by state enterprises in the conditions of a modern market economy. In their legal nature, state-owned enterprises are commercial organizations whose purpose is to generate profits. The development of production goes on in dynamics with the development of the market, which cannot but affect the interest of state enterprises to be a full participant in the market. The availability of such public legal structures as state-owned enterprises on the market allows the state to simultaneously profit and realize specific, sometimes unique goals and tasks, such as the implementation of separately subsidized activities, chemical and military productions. It is noted that other subjects of economic and entrepreneurial activity may not always be present in such areas as the manufacture, development, production of certain types of products (cartridges and ammunition, military equipment and weapons, explosive and chemically dangerous products), the disposal of hazardous chemical waste in view of the special importance of defence and state security, that is, in those industries that are necessary for the state. This underlines the interest of state enterprises from a commercial point of view in making a profit.
