Abstract
The importance of motivating students to learn a foreign language is considered. Ways of increasing it are suggested. The categories of motivating methods are distinguished depending on the field of application. An example of the use of combined methods of motivating in the French language class using an authentic book and dramatization is given. A conclusion is drawn about the advantages of various methods of motivation and their combination.
