The Phenomenon of Success in the Context of Socio-Cultural Studies

Abstract

The article focuses on the phenomenon of success from the viewpoint of sociocultural approach performed in studies in this country and abroad. The aim of the research is to assess the ratio of internal and external axiological components comprising the phenomenon by means an in-depth semi-structured interview. The following methods were exploited to process the obtained data: dense description, condensation of meaning, content analysis, and conceptual analysis. The interpretation of the phenomenon under investigation appeared to demonstrate a dichotomy. On the one hand, success was shown to measure the level of appreciation of one’s activity and its results; on the other, one’s the position in society is indicated by means of success.
