Editorial Policies
Aims and Scope
The journal «Bulletin of the Tomsk Polytechnic University. Geo Assets Engineering» presents original papers, review papers, rapid communications and discussions covering recent advances in geology, exploration and extraction of mineral resources, transportation technologies and deep processing of natural resources, energy-efficient production and energy conversion based on mineral resources as well as on safe disposal of geo assets. The journal will be of interest to geologists, chemists, engineers, physicists, ecologists, power engineers, specialists in storage and transportation of energy resources, IT specialists as well as other specialists in the related fields.

The journal publishes only original research articles in Russian and English not published before.
Peer Review Process
- Review is the document of expert evaluation by the Editorial board to determine the quality of scientific study.
- All the manuscripts corresponding to the format and topic of the journal submitted to the Editorial office are reviewed.
- Specialists in the field of the reviewed materials, who have published papers in the field of the considered paper during the last three years, are involved as the reviewers.
- Author or co-author of the reviewed paper as well as the employee of the company where the author of the paper works (do the masters, postgraduate studies, doctoral studies) can not be a reviewer.
- All articles are peer reviewed(a reviewer has no information on the authors; the author does not know the surname of the reviewer).
- Special attention in the review should be paid to the following issues:
– general analysis of the scientific quality, terminology, structure of the article, topicality;
– scientific and practical novelty and significance of the material, scientific presentation, correspondence of the methods, techniques, recommendations and results of the research used by the author to the current achievements in science and practice;
– quality of material preparation, language and style of the paper, correspondence to the specified requirements for material presentation, volume of the publication and its elements (text, tables, illustrations, references), inconsistencies and errors made by the author.
The reviewer can recommend the author and the editorial board to improve the paper.
Comments and requests of the reviewer must be nonbiased and fundamental for improving scientific and methodical levels of the manuscript.
The final part of the review must include the substantiated conclusions about the paper in general and clear recommendation on rationale of its publication.
- After paper analysis the reviewer makes the decision:
а) to recommend the manuscript for publication without updating or with it; b) to set additional reviewing; с) reject (in the case of negative evaluation of the manuscript in general the reviewer must substantiate strongly his/her conclusions).
The review is sent to the editorial office and its conclusions are written in electronic version.
- The editorial board send the reviewing results to the authors of the manuscript submitted.
- If the authors of the article disagree with the comments of the reviewer they can send a reasoned statement to the Editorial office.
- The manuscript updated according to the comments of the reviewer may be sent to rereviewing as determined by the Editorial board.
- Reviews are stored in the Editorial office for five years and sent to the State Commission for Academic Degrees and Titles of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation upon the request.

Publication ethics
Publishing House Duties
- Publishing House must follow the principles which promote the implementation of ethical duties of Editors, Reviewers and Authors of the scientific journal «Bulletin of the Tomsk Polytechnic University. Geo Assets Engineering» according to the existing general requirements.
- Publishing House must help the Editors of the journal «Bulletin of the Tomsk Polytechnic University. Geo Assets Engineering» in examination of claims to ethical aspects of the materials published.
- Publishing House must promote the implementation of the practice in introducing the results of the research carried out as well as introduce the relevant standards for withdrawing and correcting errors.
Author Duties
- When submitting the paper the author must provide the License Agreement to the Editorial board.
- Authors must provide the verified and consistent results of the research carried out.
- Authors must provide the Editorial board with the original research where the use of statements and/or the works of the other authors is executed according to the current existing rules (quotation and precise bibliographical references).
- Plagiarism in any forms (including unregistered quotes, paraphrasing or assignment of rights to the results of other people's research) is unethical, unacceptable and illegal action.
- The authors should not submit to the journal a manuscript, which has been submitted to another journal and is under consideration, as well as an article already published in another journal. If the fact of such submission is revealed the published paper will be withdrawn.
- Only those people who made significant contributions to the research design conceptualization, its development, implementation and interpretation of the results may be the co-authors of the article.
- Co-authors of the article (people who made significant contributions to the research) must agree with the authoring team members, they must make aware of the final version of the paper and approve it.
- Co-authors must disclose in their papers financial or other existing conflicts of interests (for example, wage work, consulting, corporate ownership, fees, expert contracts, applications for patents or registration of patents, grants and other financial assurance), which can be taken as those effected the results of the research.
- The author must notify the Editorial board of the journal if he/she finds significant errors or inaccuracies in the article while it is considered or after its publication. He/she must coordinate with the Editorial board for withdrawing the paper or correcting the errors.
Reviewer Duties
- The reviewer who, in his/her opinion, is not qualified to assess the manuscript, or has not enough time for prompt reviewing, must inform the editor of the journal.
- A manuscript received for review should be treated as a confidential document.
- Reviewer is obliged to give an objective and reasoned assessment to study results. Personal criticism of the author is unacceptable.
- Information or ideas obtained during reviewing and related to possible advantages must be confidential.
- Reviewers can not consider the manuscript in the case of the conflict of interests.
Editor Duties
- Editor is responsible for making decision on publication of the research which is based on validity and scientific merit.
- Editor relies on compliance with the legal requirements for the authors’ rights and plagiarism.
- Editor can consult with other Editors or Reviewers in making decision on publication.
- Data obtained from the submitted unpublished manuscripts can not be used in personal studies without written permission of the Authors.
- Editor must recuse himself/herself from considering the study in the case of the conflict of interests (for example, competitive, cooperative or other relations with the Authors).
Editorial Policy
The journal is on open access.
The journal materials are available at the license Creative Commons «Attribution» («Атрибуция») 4.0 Всемирная.
All the manuscripts published and their metadata are stored in Russian Book Chamber, on the server of the publisher and on open access on the website of the journal.
The journal is available by subscription (for business and individuals).
The Editorial board does not charge authors for the preparation, placement and printing of materials.
Policy of the Editorial team is based on current legal requirements for the authors’ rights, Code of ethics of scientific publications (Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE), applied for all participants of editorial-and-publishing process (authors, editors, reviewers, editorial team members, founder and publisher).
The Editorial board of the journal is responsible for making decision on publication of submitted manuscripts based on their expert evaluation by the leading scientists of Tomsk Polytechnic University and outside experts. The decision on the manuscript publication is based on its originality, validity, scientific merit and relevance.
