Abstract
The paper presents a review of the latest research of the role of human microbiota in fetal development and the formation of pathological processes in the adult body. The survey carried out at the Medical Institute of National Research Mordovia State University revealed the level of knowledge of 3rd year medical students about the role of human microbiota in physiological and pathological processes of the body.
