Abstract

The purpose of the study is to examine the results of a questionnaire survey conducted among female students enrolled in full-time education at the Lesgaft National State University of Physical Education, Sport and Health.
Research methods and organization. The survey involved a self-assessment by female students regarding the impact of sports activities on their health levels. The participants were female students, aged between 18 and 20 years, who actively engaged in sports, with athletic qualifications ranging from first adult category to Master of Sports. An author-developed questionnaire was used, and anthropometric measurements of the body were conducted.
Research results and conclusions. Sports activity generally has a positive effect on the overall health of female athletes. However, continuing training in a state of illness, disrupting dietary patterns, and facing difficulties in balancing studies and sports requires close attention to the development of a schedule for educational and training activities, to the adjustment of their content considering health status, and to motivating students to take responsibility for their own health. The results obtained will assist universities in addressing issues aimed at improving the health of young athletes and the population of the country as a whole.
