Abstract
The currently used methods for quantifying the content of water in plastic lubricants (greases) are time consuming and require a wide range of equipment. This contribution reports on a method that significantly reduces the time of quantifying the content of stabilizing water in plastic lubricants (PLs), thereby providing an opportunity for the more effective control over the process of manufacturing soap-thickened PLs. The proposed method is based on infrared spectroscopy.
