Abstract

Leo Hess notes that most often pulmonary bleeding occurs in cardiac patients due to embolic blockage of the lungs with mitral stenosis and aortic valve insufficiency. The second place in frequency is occupied by cases of pulmonary embolism from thrombotic peripheral veins of the prostate, uterus, rectum, sinus sagittalis, and femoral vein.
