Abstract
The author has established that relapsing fever is endemic in California. During 1921 - 1935. 106 cases were reported in 9 foci located in the mountains at an altitude of 5000 feet. 13 strains of spirochetes morphologically close to recurrent spirochetes of field rodents were isolated.
