Abstract
The frequency of thoraco-abdominal wounds in peacetime, according to a number of authors, ranges from 36 to 57% of penetrating chest wounds. The percentage of diagnostic errors varies from 33.3 to 80 [1, 2]. From 1966 to 1977 in the surgical, traumatological and neurosurgical departments of the 15th hospital in Kazan, more than 9000 victims with various injuries were observed, including 866 people with concomitant injuries. Of the total number of victims, there were 118 people with trauma to the chest and its organs.
