Abstract
this article conducts a linguistic analysis of the communicative strategies and tactics employed within the phenomenon of "cancel culture", using the case of Joan Rowling as an example. The study aims to identify and systematize the mechanisms of linguistic influence aimed at shaping a collective negative narrative and the social stigmatization of an individual in the digital environment. The focus is on the strategies of discrediting, moral condemnation, polarization, and amplification, which are realized through specific tactics such as applying stigmatizing labels, manipulating quotes, using emotionally charged language, and creating binary oppositions. The research demonstrates how digital platforms, their algorithms, and collective moderation practices amplify the impact of these strategies, narrowing the space for rational debate and contributing to the radicalization of public discourse. The practical significance of the work lies in the potential application of its findings for developing media literacy, improving models of digital communication, and formulating ethical standards for content moderation aimed at maintaining a balance between freedom of expression and the need to protect vulnerable groups in the digital age.
