On the question of the functioning of prepositions in and on in the works of Russian writers

the article analyzes the functioning of prepositions in and on the Russian language. It is noted that this topic is little explored in this language. The prepositions under study are peculiar in their composition and functioning. The confusion of these prepositions is particularly evident in individual cases. Integration is noted when the prepositional phrase designates a place of action, an event. The dynamics of fluctuations in the functioning of these prepositions has its own explanation. This is the productivity of the spatial meanings of these prepositions. And spatial values make up a fairly large part of these values. The changes that occur in the use of these prepositions consist in changes in the lexical meaning of those nouns with which they were combined. In the past, the preposition b was more widespread. A more diverse usage was allowed than the preposition on. In modern Russian, there are polar processes. The activity of the preposition b in relation to the preposition na has increased.
