Lingvopragmatic features of expressing emotionality in a literary text (based on A. Matveeva's story "In the Picture")

this article examines the features of the lingua-pragmatic expression of emotionality in a fictional text using A. Matveeva's short story "On the Picture". The study addresses the challenges of defining the theoretical foundations for studying emotionality in fiction, systematizing the linguistic means of expressing emotionality at various levels, describing the functional and pragmatic characteristics of emotive units, and establishing their role in creating an artistic image. The methodological basis is formed by the works of scholars in the fields of emotiology, lingua-pragmatics, and text linguistics. The analysis revealed that emotional expression in a fictional text is realized through a multi-level system of interacting linguistic means. The central mechanism for creating emotionality is the metaphorization of the main character's internal state, the contrasting juxtaposition of stylistic devices, compositional elements, and color symbolism. The results of the study can find practical application in teaching courses on text linguistics, stylistics, and linguopragmatics, in the analysis of contemporary literary texts, and in further research on A. Matveeva's work. The identified techniques and methods of expressing emotiveness contribute to a deeper understanding of the mechanisms of the emotional impact of literary texts on the reader.
