Abstract
The article discusses the need for the formation of the intellectual potential of international students at the preparatory faculties of Russian universities. The ways of development of cognitive abilities of students are presented with an example of chemistry subject of the Faculty of the Russian language and basic disciplines of the Russian peoples' friendship university.
