RUSSIAN-LANGUAGE DICTIONARIES AS A MEANS OF FORMATION OF BELARUSIAN STUDENT’S LANGUAGE CONSCIOUSNESS

Abstract

The aim of the article is to represent the role of the Russian-language and encyclopedic dictionaries in teaching the Russian language in educational institutions of the Republic of Belarus. The material of the research is based on the lexicographical resources that contain linguistic and cultural information for revealing subject competence. The methods of the research are the following: a descriptive method, modeling the educational process and its elements. The main results of the research show the ways of revealing personally-oriented development as a model for providing students’ language, speech, communicative and cultural competence. Productive use of different types of dictionaries that reflect the linguistic and cultural knowledge and methods of their application in the cognitive base of students provides a description of a student’s personality, indicates a cultural level and reveals some problems connected with linguistic and cultural difficulties and shows the ways to solve them with the help of dictionaries.
