Abstract

the article presents a comprehensive analysis of the development of floorball on a global scale. The paper analyzes the dynamics of country membership in the International Floorball Federation (IFF) for the period from 2006 to 2023, examines the international features of the spread of floorball and identifies the main trends in its global development. The study is based on data from the official IFF website and uses geospatial analysis methods to visualize the geographical distribution of participating countries. The results show that as of 2023, 78 countries (45 full and 33 temporary members) are participating in the IFF selection. The leading positions in the development of floorball are occupied by European countries – Sweden, Finland, the Czech Republic and Switzerland, which is due to the historical traditions of winter sports and developed sports infrastructure. Particularly active growth in membership was observed since the early 2000s, when countries in Asia and Africa joined the federations, which became an indicator of the globalization of this type of sport.
