Abstract

The research is devoted to the practical study of the translation of wordplay in works of art from Korean into Russian. The aim of the study is a practical study of the translation of wordplay in works of art from Korean into Russian. The research material was Kim Hoyeon ‘s healing novel « Uncanny Convenience Store «, consisting of two parts. The first was published in 2021, and the second in 2022. Kim Hoyeon’s idiostyle is distinguished by the use of various artistic techniques, including wordplay, allusions, extended metaphors, puns, anagrams. As a result of our research, we came to the conclusion that when translating a pun, the translator has to find a balance between preserving the form and conveying the meaning, as well as the function of the original.
