Abstract

The article analyses the linguosemiotic analysis of the content basis of the first Slavonic writing systemin the context of Cyril and Methodius heritage and the most important creedal text of Christianity - the Creed. Therelevance is determined by the insufficient study of the initial link of the Slavic written tradition. The problem of theresearch is to find out the meaningful connection of the initial Slavic writing system with the Evangelical Christologicalcomplex. The aim of the research is to show the significance of the right faith complex for the activity of the creatorsof Slavonic writing, saints Cyril and Methodius, and the reflection in the first Slavonic alphabet of the Evangelicalmeaning complex about Christ. Methods: textual analysis of the Cyril and Methodius heritage, semiotic analysis of theGlagolitic system, cultural analysis of the historical context. The material is texts of the Cyril and Methodius canon andthe semiotic system of Glagolitic. The main results and conclusions: the significance of the content complex of the rightfaith reflected in the texts of Cyril and Methodius heritage is shown; its dominant meanings related to the glorificationof the Holy Trinity and the affirmation of the dogmas about Christ are highlighted; the Christological content basis ofGlagolitic alphabet, its correlation with the Evangelical Christological dogmas of the Creed is substantiated. Theconnection between the alphabet and the Creed is reflected in the matrix signs that focus the Messianic idea. It isconcluded that both the missionary activity of the Solunian brothers and the creation of the Slavonic script were subordinated to their theological preaching activity aimed at affirming the complex of the right faith enshrined in the Nicene-Tsaregrad Creed. The significance of the study lies in the affirmation of the evangelical beginning of the Slavic written tradition.
