Abstract
The article grounds the importance of learning the CIS languages, defines the role of vocationally oriented textbooks in forming profession-related competence. The research focuses on a series of textbooks on the languages of the CIS countries prepared at Moscow State Linguistic University. It defines their structure, key requirements, and didactic principles: a modular approach, bilingual support, principles of advanced study of professionally significant topics in the native language, and algorithmic assignments for independent work.
