Abstract
The article examines the evolution of the US strategic approaches towards Russia, conditioned by the formation of Russia's independent foreign policy, awareness of itself as a Eurasian state-civilization and, on the other hand, the increased activity of Washington in the context of the Ukrainian crisis.
