Abstract
The article is a review-reflection on the book by A.A. Khagurov Sustainable Development of Rural Areas: Problems and Prospects (Krasnodar: KubSAU, 2023. 254 p.). The book analyzes the complex relationship between the social-economic and ecological-humanistic dimensions of the global development of countries and communities and considers the issues of sustainable development as a focus of major international politics and domestic policy in almost all countries. The author emphasizes the global nature and relevance of the concept of sustainable development by beginning each chapter with an examination of its resolved and unresolved theoretical and methodological issues.
